He paid $136k with fees on BaT, so $130k, after adding 5k miles, seems reasonable.
Interesting that the BaT listing shows a $8k engine out service to replace RMS, water pump, hoses, and pin the lines, and the new listing states that another $15k of service to address basically the same issues was required. That's a lot of repairs on a 30k mile car.

I also noticed the same. The BaT listed service was $10k, done only few years and few k miles ago, and covered many of the same items (leaks, seals, pump,...).

Pumpkin .1 RS with 13k miles and formerly belonged to another Rennlist user. Had a clean DME, Carfax, and good paint when it was sold on BAT last year or <1k miles ago. Options include leather and PCCB. Asking price is $150k.

Unsurprisingly this .2 RS with 19k miles sold for $130k on BAT. Had some significant over revs and looked as if it had been on track a good amount.

Doug just posted on his Instagram that he got in a 7.1RS. White with black stripes and 32k miles. Seems like a great mileage to get into one with that you can actually drive and enjoy. I’m sure he’ll post more here, hopefully he doesn’t mind me mentioning prior to him adding details.

Seems about right at $135k all in with buyers premium. Shows just how much history plays into these cars. That car stock and without the over revs would be worth significantly more. Part of me is a huge fan of DME reports, since the more data the better, let the buyer interpret it and figure out what is most important to them. The other part of me thinks about every other manual transmission car, whether BMW M or Ferrari that would have sold for way less if they had DME reports as well.

I thought that was a great buy for a driver's RS in decent shape. Car looked too clean for too much track time. Even coolant hoses weren't pinned/welded. The over-revs were small (in number) and a long time ago. The car sounded great and looked tight on the videos. The OEM suspension came with the car. Buckets... I was off line at a meeting when the auction ended otherwise may have been tempted. Buys like these will be parts of legends 10-20yrs from now.

Always felt sorry for these type of owners, didn't get to drive the car & won't even break even after considering all cost/inflation/time value of the money etc. But I guess his loss is the next owner's gain. Hope it finds a good home.

what are other people’s thoughts here? In photos and description, the car seemed really nice. Good paint meter readings. Good options, 2 sets of shocks. Missing carbon rotors. DME reported issues a long time ago. I have cars I’m afraid to drive they are so nice. This seemed like a car I wouldn’t be scared of. At the same time, not a lot more money would get you one without those hang ups...

Looks nicer than it ought to be knowing the history. Quite appealing as could be a prop driver rs, wouldn't sweat too much over the missing pccb given it's condition/age, will make offer lightly under what it sold for on bat tho.

Make offer? It just sold on BaT — it’s gone. This is the white .2 RS, not the .1 RS now for sale at the Mart.

Hey Matt. My thoughts are that a non-RS can still give you a very high % of the RS enjoyment factor, without the cost or risk. So if your goal is to buy & DRIVE, why pay that premium.

I bought my pristine .2 w/ 10k unmolested miles for quite a bit less (& in a very hard to find Aqua Blue, PCCB's, phenom interior w/ painted seat backs & more)....
.......... and even though it was a excellent collector grade specimen when I bought it,... I have ZERO Guilt putting miles on her.
(... similar to my 964Turbo that I bought 15yrs ago & have been putting tens of thousands miles on it,.. and yet it STILL increased $100K value over what I bought it for),...
Life's too short.
It took me a while to find it tho, and right now I don't see any low mileage $110k - $120K examples for sale with high specs,... but they are out there.

Maybe just drive one of yours? ..... but I get it, if your money is tied up in it as an investment (lots of RLers look at these cars that way, so I am a minority), or the area you would drive yours is just plain risky with other crazy drivers that could hurt your cars,... then it is indeed a quandry.
