The 997 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...

that auction result had nothing to do with color. The car was poorly presented and there were some question marks. GT silver is a great and rare color on the 997 GT3. It’s hard to capture its uniqueness in pictures, but In real life and especially out of direct sunlight, it is very rich and looks like liquid metal. If I recall, GT Silver was quite an expensive option, something like $3500.

What amazes me is how much different all of the colors (sans Most Whites and Most Blacks) can look so different in all of the different lighting, shades, and your own eyes.
The differences between GT and Arctic on regular pics, cant tell most of the time.
However, one thing I just learned about photography, are the differences between a picture and a photograph. I got to give it up to the pros (after being at Air_Water), some of the pro pics are just $$$
GT silver would be a "keeper" color IMO.
Love my cobalt, but GT is waaaay nicer than the Arctic I had. I mean, look at those ^^^^^^ photos......Liquid Metal is a good analogy
Hardly ever see this color come up either.....
Some more pics of the proposed sale car would be nice. 😊

As someone who recently bought a 7.2 GT3 private party from a fellow enthusiast, keep an eye on this forum and try to talk to as many owners as possible, you never know when someone might sell.
The good news is pretty much everybody knows everybody in the 997 GT community since there's just not a lot of them out there, and if someone is selling or thinking about selling this forum will be the first to find out.

I agree with @jack073 - I first posted in this thread to gauge interest before going to the RL marketplace and not tying up this thread.
Being a driver-spec car, I wanted it to go to another enthusiast who would be a good custodian and use the car as intended. I think he's taking it to the track in a week or so.
As soon as @Mr.TT made the first rip up to 7000rpm on the freeway on ramp I knew he was hooked! Hopefully many happy miles lay ahead.
As for me, I'm off to the 993 forums, I have a nice Targa coming in. Fully sorted, and set up exactly how I would spec it.
See you on the backroads!

It seems like the inventory for 997 GT cars are definitely drying up. Seems like they should dry up a bit on BAT as well and settle down to pre-2020 sales once the flippers turn inventory and end up in the hands of enthusiasts, only two current listings.
On Porsche finder there is only one 997.1 GT3 out off 100+ 991, 992 GT3/RS, that's 100:1
PCNA Finder - GT
Hopefully we can eventually get enthusiast to enthusiasts sales as @DocR mentions.

Is this one old? Seems like the .1 are now what the .2 were a few years ago.

Arctic is low in production as well, PCCB, and NAV, Leather, etc...
Seems reasonably priced to me.

that's just confusing to me. When the word "rare" is brought into the equation because of the cars build year, I start to think about how "collectable" the car would be to a collector (or an investor). But if a guy is searching for a Artic .1 w/ PCCB, leather & NAV,.. is that guy really going to pay more cuz its a '08 verses a '07?

Does it make rational sense? Absolutely not. But then again, there was a thread a couple months back on the 991 GT section of someone only looking for a 2019 Touring because they were more rare than a 2018 Touring so to the right person who knows.
What if I told you because they made less in 2008 the production process wasn’t as reliable as 2007? Would that make the 2007 more desirable?
In some states you become exempt from emissions testing after a certain number of years (I think 25 in Georgia) and may be eligible for historic plates or other perks sooner. Benefit of the older cars, hah

As some who sold privately and just bought privately (super pumped) there is a realistic market, a bat market, and a dealer market. I would say dealers are squeezing the extra 15% on asking* but settle around 10% over private sales. Which is reasonable to make money if it’s a business and job…. I bought the giveaway car, I know almost all the history from the previous companies that took care of the car.
there are a few rs’s for sale that I know of 3 maybe 4. But 2 of the private sellers want all the money as if * they were dealers, if that’s the case they will be on bat.
