this is going to bring a lot of money, but importing costs will hurt the potential US buyers. curious if it goes to a US buyer or if it stays in Canada, eh.

4600 miles likely makes this a bubble car.

I may be wrong, but I’m pretty sure import duty is only 2.5%.

i've been through the process before and overall it tacked on about $10k to the price including the transport to TX. it's not necessarily hard, but it is lengthy and you need patience. the price has to be good enough to go through that exercise twice.

Import is 2.5% trucking fee is about same per mile as in the US. You can go through an import broker which I would recommend and their fee is about $1k. It’s also 2.5% converted to USD.

It’s not $10k. And it’s super easy, you are paying a licensed, bonded international broker to do the work for you.

TFX is a trucking company and they can handle the import as well.

Someone buy this please!!

you're absolutely correct. my mistake. the $10k figure also included my state taxes on the purchase. i did use a broker, per recommendations of others.

At the end of the day, I just love seeing people get into GT3/s. I hate when people are scared off from action and achieving their dreams.

Looks like someone finally snagged the PTS Riviera blue 997.2 RS from Merit that was listed for $470k.

I wonder what they actually let it go for 🤔.

People here overlook a lot of great examples that are in Canada because they aren't unaware of the importing process and fees which aren't very complex or expensive. For some reason even when a Canadian market car arrives in the US it goes for a slight discount compared to examples that were originally delivered here. IDK if it's because the speedo is in kmh (most people the digital speedo which can read both in mph or kmh) or maybe something else I'm overlooking. Because of Canada's 15 year import law there are RoW 997.1 GT3/RS Clubsport's there which are off limits for US buyers unfortunately (unless extensive modifications are done) as our law is for 25 years.

to be honest, $165k for a 4600 mile example doesn't seem unreasonable. i thought it would bring more than that on BaT before i knew it was listed for that figure already.
