Years ago I had my '07 GT3 for sale while I was hopefully going to buy a friend's RS.
Without going into the details, lets just say that I will never, ever attempt to sell it or any other GT3 that might be in my garage on Rennlist. I've owned several Porsches since 1973 and yes, I am also very picky too - at a reasonable level - But, but I am also aware that aside from a museum-from-new piece,a 15 year old Porsche may not be 100% showroom from top to bottom, either.

That explanation can be read in harmony with the 2016 PPI report that I quoted above; although it doesn't necessarily address the front bumber repaint and the replacement of front-end parts on the driver's side that were also noted. Setting aside what happened (or may have happend) in the past, it's rare color and a rarer spec and appears to be in pretty good nick as presented today. The existence of paintwork just needs to be factored into the equation.
Agree, selling on RL is terrible. I put up my 991.1 RS for sale a few months ago and nothing but flakes and overly picky people. The best message I received was someone who would buy the car but only if the paint and condition was pristine and mint....... on a car with 22K miles lol.
I could only laugh.

I have sold and bought on RL, no problem, but after selling, you are a better buyer. My GT3 seller had about 5 buyers and chose me, because I was not a PIA and we laughed at the buyers giving him grief about nothing...the car looked brand new.
I have also sold and bought on Bimmerpost, so maybe I am just lucky or have it down, 1. kick rocks to time wasters 2. talk on the phone to real buyer/seller.

The seller will always favor that principle but the peanut gallery will tend to go with a Hiccum's Dictum approach. I don't think it would have blown up if the seller came out of the gate with that information. Nonetheless, the walk around video in the sunlight should put a lot of bidder's fears to rest. It's a rare color and besides, you can't see it from the driver's seat.
My issue was that both him and BaT were trying to cover it up rather than just provide the simple explanation. Of course it's a 16-17 year old car that is not going to be perfect, but why delete the questions/comments instead of simply addressing them and put it to bed immediately?

RL is best as a community, meaning guys like me will disclose every rusted bolt, because I take pride in my cars and the work I do on them… and most importantly it’s already out there if someone digs deep enough in the forum. Comments like “what’s cat not ready mean” kinda give you away lol.
But I bought my car on BAT (way more risk than RL imo) with a carfax bumper respray, so I’m already headed into the defensive if I would ever sell. So if a guy has a car with no online history it’s hard to say if you should “disclose that curb rash fix from 2015”.
Dont forget this thread takes pride in protecting the buyers, but more importantly defending a solid seller… the second just has to be earned.

I think it depends… you could disclose everything or you could wait for someone to ask, I’ve done both in my life… it is what it is, most people fall in the middle.

I've had one great experience here selling my 997.1 GT3. Buyer and I trusted each other and it was a flawless transaction, he wired, I shipped. No problem afterwards.
I've also had the worst low ballers on earth, and the biggest nit pickers with unrealistic expectations, that's what's mostly on here.

I bought my 964T from Rocky Mountain Eurosport in CO back in '07 (where that blue one was) and they were so sketchy I had a friend of mine that owned a smaller dealership work with them.

Yea we all want to buy an enthusiast's car, with maintenance records, well kept and loved.
But we also don't want to sell to those same people. Can't imagine dealing with people like us lol

Our experiences are not inconsistent.... I learned an expensive lesson, which may have been avoided had I had access to the types of information shared on this forum.
The blue/gold .2 RS at Merit Partners is now up on their site. Would you guys take the gray or blue one they have?

I ended up being lucky zdet, the car was heavily modified but I had a local to me shop do a PPI so I knew what I was getting into.
That is one I wish I did not sell, but a change of life circumstances made it necessary.
$429K for the blue/gold. Jeebus.
