The 997 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...
What do you think this comes down to mostly, feel? I have a 996TT and am in a newer to me 718 GT4. The GT4 isn't quite a spaceship like a C8 Corvette, but with the limits much higher and with how competent it is, you need to be going a lot faster to feel the "fizz" especially with the electric steering vs. hydraulic. But yeah there seems like there's probably a unique experience you get from a 996 or 997 GT3 that you aren't going to get from a newer car and there simply aren't that many of them. Sometimes I wonder if I'd be happier in one of those to sort of split the difference, but I'd have to actually drive one first.

drove 991.2 GT3 (non-RS) manual and my 997.2 RS back to back, on the same road. Cannot feel a thing in the 991 and it felt softer than my BMW M. don't even get me started on the no feel electronic clutch... 'easy' to drive? yes, but ..........

I have a 718 GT4 coming. I was thinking of selling the GT3 but I worry the GT4 feels less GT-like.
I suppose I should comment again even though this is supposed to be a listings discussion thread. Something I left out that also comes to mind on older modern vs. new cars is that brand new engines still can sound great but they have a sort of digital or synthetic sound to them that the older motors don't have. Are they all direct injection and is that part of it? A 997.2 DFI motor is on paper better than the one it replaced but don't the older motors or a Mezger just have a certain character that is quite distinct from the newer engines?

The 00s to early 10s really was the magic time of "just modern enough" drivers' cars - across domestics, JDM, and Euro.
Anyone know what happened to that Barrington car? Atlas Grey, 10k mi, supposedly used as a training tool for an IMSA driver's son (per earlier in this thread)...

I believe it was sold at auction to a FL dealer for $105, my offer was rejected and ended up with a mint black one at $115. I actually wish I had bought that because it had 7200 miles and was tricked out with $30k in goodies like 3-way MCS…the dev report wasn’t bad for a racers car.

This just popped in the Classifieds: https://rennlist.com/forums/market/1361748
Looks like a clean car, zero options though. Haven't seen one like it in a very, very long time!

Last similar spec'd car on BAT went for 276K but with 9000 less miles a few weeks back (had 19k miles if I recall).

Ya The 991 and 992 clutches are all garbage. . . not sure why they went that direction. It's a huge disappointment
