The 997 GT3/RS Cars For Sale Thread...

That hood is sticking up a nice amount on the driver's side. In addition compare the bumper to fender on both sides of the car. That driver's side looks bad. Something isn't fixed properly.
I would warn any bidders this is a 100% need to put eyes on before you commit.

BAT does not care, they want the $5k buyer fee.
Buyer surprise or blind eye by the seller, just imagine how much of this has took place over the past couple of years on BAT, not just with Porsche.

the hood gapping seems consistent on both sides I think it may be fine? But that bumper install… the bumper only does what the mounting points do. So you’d have to take all that off and see why that front bumper support is tweaked maybe just the aluminum mount, or they just sucked at the install.
… they should take the auction down and take it into a good shop to give the auction “more info” for buyers

It's the car business, it happens every. single. day.
Interesting story telling here and behind the scenes. Doug, do you have record of disclosing the repairs/accident to CM when you sold his LLC the car in 2019? Our CRM goes back that far... He seemed pretty confused hearing about all of this yesterday, Recalled a minor ding/parking accident was mentioned over the phone but nothing about possible airbag deployment or a $27k repair estimate. We don't take body panels off of cars before selling, so no, we didn't catch this on our own. Would have been great if you updated your previous listing for the car which is still on your website https://www.switchcars.com/cars-for-...rsche-911-2010

Kicking myself for not making more of a point to see the Pcarmarket GT3 before the auction ended. I won't bid sight unseen on a $100k+ car. I didn't expect it to sell so low. 2007 GT3, GT silver, clean carfax, recent engine out service, 20k miles, sold for $126k. Oh well, lesson learned.

there was airbag deployment on the steering wheel. I don’t have pictures but it was a major enough hit that the owner at the time “thought it was totalled”.

Weird, wonder why Switchcars wanted to represent such a rough car and sell to a good collector customer if it was that bad.

Not sure what's so screaming about it. There's been a lot of cars selling in that range lately and many of them for sale and sitting at higher prices. He was asking $167K or something before the auction ... not sure asking price has any relevance on what it's worth though. BaT delivers the max drool outliers so if that's your reference point, i can see why you would think this silver one sold in "bargain" territory.

Screaming deal, especially considering what else is out there.
didn’t Switchcars sell it before the accident? I think it was only Grand Prix motors, at least according to the Carfax, that sold it after the accident.
Switchcars first sold before the accidents (2016 & 2017) and after the accidents to our (Grand Prix) end customer, who then consigned/sold the car through us to current owner. The previous owner didn’t crash it - he had it paint corrected, tracked it a few times, installed a goofy auto-blip box, and moved on to the next one.
For reference on value: our modified, CarFax-disclosed airbag accident (photo documented and photos provided to our buyer) white 7.2 GT3 noted a few pages back in this thread took $25k+ more than the current high bid on this car (we even raised the price $10k as we got too many inquiries the first 10 hours). I think this car will do fine in the market with newly announced repairs disclosed by whatever dealer this ends up with, but a shame that the auction was tarnished late in the game. BaT should have pulled it and tried again in a few weeks.
