Thanks.

I am interested in a lighter weight battery but I've spent all my money on other stuff. LOL

Unfortunately that brace doesn't fit to our cars. I tried...

I think that brace will fit 996 C4, Turbo, GT2, GT3, and Cup. But not C2 because the bulkhead is different.

Nope, width of the brace is diffrent (wider), as well as the angle of end plates and their monting holes. But the bulkhead fitment is OK.

Thanks for the clarification for 996.

Did another mod last night. This one was simple, yet I have scratches all over my arm from it-

Remote clutch hydraulic bleeder kit from DemonSpeed Motorsports.

The scratches on my arm are from reaching way up there near the top of the transmission where the "secondary" hydraulic cylinder is to replace the factory bleeder screw with the supplied fittings.

Routed the hose to the engine compartment. Here's the clutch bleeder screw next to the fuel filter. I then bled the clutch cylinder with ease.
This mod doesn't produce faster lap time but sure does make future servicing faster. I think its a nice addition to my 4.0 Clubsport build.

Made two changes last night since the 991 Cup pedal guard doesn't come as shown in image.

Ended up moving the gas pedal guard 8.5mm to the right and the dead pedal 5mm to the left for better ergo fit for me. The changes are positive, it makes me feel more relaxed working the pedals.

Default PFC 991 Cup type 380/380 Brakes!

This is the climax mod for my car this year. I had to sell the brakes off my car and run up my credit card to do this, but its okay, I SO WANTED THIS. There is a reason for the heavy want, from my perspective, the story goes something like this...

Two years ago at the annual Performance Racing Industry Show at Indianapolis, Indiana, my boss Mike Levitas and I were invited to sit at PFC's conference table with PFC's Director of Motorsports, Darrick Dong(a man who needs no introduction) and PFC Engineers to strategize bringing GT3 Cup braking technology to track day enthusiasts in a bolt-on package. I remember Mike's exact words were "991 Cup brakes are the best brakes I have raced on. We HAVE TO do this!"

The image below is from a prior year of the show. I am using the image to setup a visual for my story. Credit to motoiq for the image.

There we discussed fitment on road cars from 996 Turbo to the latest 991 RS, the needs of prospective customers, ideas to package and market the finished product, and an independent field evaluation of the package by TPC Racing in the Optima Ultimate Street Car Challenge using an 800-hp 991 Turbo S(dubbed the TPC Racing GT2RSx) in different performance categories(road course time trial, autoX, and speed/stop). In two years, the PFC brake package has been extensively put to test on the TPC Racing GT2RSx from Turn 1 at Daytona to 222mph top speed run at the NASA Space Shuttle Landing Runway. I was truly honored to be along for this journey from the conference table to the official product launch at the 2020 PCA 48-hours @ Sebring, where three 991 track-prepared road cars proudly wore the new PFC Track Day Brake Package and all three cars were fast and flawless. With the PFC Track Day Brake Package established for the 991-series road cars(GT3/RS/Turbo/Carrera/S/4S) in two available sizes, 405/380mm and 380/380mm, now we have to have this package for the car that's dear to me, yes, the 997 GT3! Collectively with PFC's design data base for 997 Cup components and some of my hands on fitment details we have sped up the process and now have the PFC Track Day Brake Package for 997/996-series cars. We refer to this package as the TPC Racing Cup Challenge Brake Kit by PFC. Why? Because we were first introduced to the full effect of PFC brakes racing a fleet of 991 Cup cars in the GT3 Cup Challenge Series USA. This new brake kit is an evolutionary upgrade from the 991 Cup brakes with even better seals, lighter weight, and titanium vented piston caps. Through TPC Racing, we will be offering custom configurations of the brake kit with different piston sizes, pad compound options, and hydraulic lines. I love that got the opportunity to play a small role in bringing this product to market and I love that I am in communications with a Design Engineer on a regulate basis. Perhaps, dare I say, this is my brake kit.

The shipment arrived at 4pm. Start the installation at 6pm, should be done before dark.

Front Caliper. The monobloc caliper body is specified forged for 997 GT3 uprights. No bracket needed. Straight bolt-on to the upright.

Need to stop looking at the Ti vented piston caps and get on with the installation!

Rear caliper.

The rear calipers do have spacers because the rear rotor size is increased to 380mm, like on a 991 Cup.

Rear spacer and stainless steel studs installed.

While the PFC calipers are designed to connect to OEM brake hoses I am testing one-piece SS braided hose with banjo fitting that replaces the OEM two-piece soft/hard hose setup.

Man, take a couple of phone calls and a few pics, next thing I know its dark outside.

Rear is installed.

Had to turn the car around for lighting since the shop full.

Front calipers require no adapter brackets since they are exact fit. The included SS studs(Cup) are nice.

Front rotor on. I went with 380mm because I think that's more than enough mass. 405mm front is available. The aluminum hat has dual bolt pattern for 5-lug and centerlock.

Same with the front, I am testing custom length banjo fitting one-piece hose as oppose to the OEM two-piece soft/hard hose.

Front is installed. Its getting late and this is my ride home so I did a quick brake bleed with a pressure bleeder and called it a night. I feel a bit fuzzy from being up in the wee hours but I feel very satisfied and should sleep good for a few hours.

Looks great! Probably the best "build/progress" threads on Rennlist!

Hi Tom,
Do you have a weight comparison to the OEM system?

Below is what I have gathered. Powdrhound's scale is likely more accurate than my shipping scale for the actual weight. For the purpose of comparison, the delta should be valid when measured on the same scale.

OEM 997.1 GT3, 350/350mm steel
Front caliper 8.25
Rear caliper 6.25
Front steel rotor 27.00**
Rear steel rotor 22.08**
Total 127.16 lbs

OEM 997.2 GT3, 380/350mm steel
Front caliper 7.85
Rear caliper 6.25
Front steel rotor 23.54**
Rear steel rotor 22.08**
Total 119.44 lbs

PFC 380/380mm Kit
Front caliper 6.95
Rear caliper 6.10
Front steel rotor 22.00
Rear steel rotor 17.10
Total 104.30 lbs

** Denotes I didn't weigh the OEM rotors on my scale. I gathered the OEM rotor weights from a rennlist member post. Please excuse any inaccuracies.
