It's not stock; I actually modded it with the intention of becoming a better driver while shopping for the used Nissan, which I found in less than a week. Murphy works both ways The suspension on it is a slightly tweaked and lowered version of the RS6 setup, aftermarket from H&R but TUV approved. It's also got more power, better brakes and RS6 18" wheels.

Believe it or not, you can hang the tail way out like Ari Vatanen in a Mk 1 Escort and it loves it, an unexpected surprise. It's not quick on the track though, and you need to be careful not to run out of room to catch it, that I need a lot of practice at doing faster.

+1

But that would make sense and GT-r drivers don't want to learn how to actually drive a car through the corners.

Great lap. Certainly a more defensive line for racing. I like his line at 13 coming in to the braking zone.

Wow, great save. Had you not, it's possible you would have swapped ends into that wall on the right side of the track. Those slides will pucker you a bit.

Great pics, Evo997!

Default Audi or BMW?

As a track car, I'd agree. I bought the Audi as a shopping car, and my preferences for the A6 are purely personal, such as liking 4wd (pointless in TX), turbos (rally engine tuning is all about torque), larger shell than the S4 for lower cost, etc. Here in Austin it's OK to own a BMW, whereas in Scotland where folks are less wealthy, nearly 1/3 of all BMWs are owned by total ******** and the brand rep suffers badly. The M3 is seen as the rich kid's Camaro Z28.

I've started causally doing what they call rallycross here (called autocross in Europe, not to be confused with FIA-style rallycross as done by Marcus Gronholm et al) in the A6 and it's not bad, so now I can justify the 4wd.

Also, the Audi is slow, German and has the engine outside the wheelbase, surely that's in keeping with this forum

Great shots I'd you get any others later in the weekend on the track by chance. I ran so little due to warning lights you may have missed me.
