My guess is that they aren't old enough yet with the magic number of heat cycles on the coupling glue. Give it time...

2002 Turbo
140,000 miles

Yesterday, I was driving home from work when I seen a bunch of white smoke behind me, just moments later the temp starting going up with the red light flashing , then the low coolant warning came on. Pulled over had a big trail of coolant on the highway. I had the car towed to a friends shop and today I went down to look for the problem could not see anything I then started yo put water in and it poured right out
it looks like its coming from the top where the motor and trans meets on driver side. I wont be able to put it on the lift till Thursday.

I'll register. ZSA Motorsport dropped my engine to do fittings- One immediately found ready to fail. Shame on Porsche all these years not recalling these cars.

Any updates on getting Porsche to own up to a safety issue in these cars and doing the right thing?

I was informed today that PCA National would have to take a position whether Advanced & Instructor group had to do coolant fix for DE events. I will have more information soon on on Class action suit.. something in motion but not ready to roll out yet. My car is almost finished. It looks like such a little fish next to all the Cup Cars at ZSA Motorsports.

http://via.me/-7ctw7ry#!/-77eu0r4. I'll get some shots but here is the link to his photos. Mine is the Speed Yellow on the lift.. ZSAmotorsport.com In regards to the coolant lines. I think I'm going to have a hard being on track knowing others haven't done the fix. I know we sign track waivers but as this thread says - Owner Responsibility.

Thanks, that's a crowded shop, with serious hardware.

There's hope if the PCA forces owners to take action. Hopefully they do.

It's weird, there seem to be two different worlds out there. I'm doing mine as we speak, but my shop, that is strictly a cup race-shop, can't really understand what the fuss is about. They have never (?) seen this at the races????

Yet, I've had it myself, and have been a first-hand witness to countless events.

Whenever I've asked the Porsche techs about this, they dismiss it as a very low percentage event. I've always thought that this was the party line, but maybe they really don't see that many.... whereas we do?

We all know they will fail. Adhesive break down with heat, age and cycles. Becoming more common. I was originally in denial .
