Also would you swap to the single mass flywheel if the engine is out? I can’t make up my mind.

Yes, the single mass flywheel is a game changer. Makes the car more alive and the blips are amazing. Go for it.

I had the same trouble deciding when I replaced my clutch. After lots of reading, I stayed with dual mass. My car vibrates enough with the RS engine mounts.

Agreed. The RS 4.0 clutch and flywheel made a HUGE difference in how the car feels to drive. The 3.6 is such a rev happy engine that it really makes it special and next level. Having extensively driven 3.6, 3.8s and some 4.1s: the 3.6+ 4.0 LWFW is the quickest revving of them by far.

I let the coolant dribble out while I was tapping the threads into the hole. Then installed the screws/pins with red loctite.

I followed a video from Drola on YouTube. The process was pretty straightforward. Worst part was dealing with the AC compressor and power steering reservoir.
I also recently completed the pinning with engine in car per the Drola YouTube vid. I was also able to change every rear end coolant hose & header tank with engine in the car. It wasnt too difficult, aided by the use of a pair of remote hose clip pliers, some ingenuity, & my skinny arms/hands. I was even able to change the oil cooler elbows. I guess the caveat is that good dexterity & being able to work by feel are pre-requisites. Helpfully, porsche print part numbers on nearly every hose.

Just wanted to share to indicate that it can all be done without engine removal. Hope this helps.

Here is the list of hoses I collated (the hoses & elbows included the orings where needed). Some of these no.s are now superseded, but will get you to the right part; Coolant hoses:

That’s amazing. I never could have done those oil cooler elbows with the engine in the car. I have big hands and forearms.

Congrats to you.

For future reference, this is only possible on the non-turbo cars.

Sorry, I should have stated in my post that this was for a GT3.
