Maybe so, but I bet they could lose more weight that that. Even if the Cayman version did weight 2,900 pounds, wouldn't you be interested if they give it a Carrera (3.6L) motor to go with all the goodies here (-20mm Sport Suspension, LSD, Carbon Buckets, 19" Lightweight wheels, cool aero kit, etc.) and it still cost in the $60k's?

Hope you can get Air Conditioning. In South Florida it would be a deal killer, you could only drive it about 4 months a year without great discomfort. Would be okay if track only.
Might have to get one if Air is an option, not sure abour Radio??\

Boyd

Is this a limited edition model? They really need to do a Cayman Clubsport ASAP. They won't be able to take off that much weight in the Cayman, so they should put in the 3.6L from the Carrera. They have all the other parts already.

Not limited edition, a regular production model.

I'm glad it's white...that way we don't have to hear about the fact the red or whatever color doesn't match their hair or some other bull****.

Well done Porsche!

Seven color selections are optional and available. The Aqua Blue Metallic would look great Arctic Silver and Red (but would lose the "pop" of the red top attachment hooks) would also be super sharp.

PS- While not cost effective I think centerlocks would look smoking hot.

I think anything "Porsche" is well beyond cost-effective;-)

Is Paint to Order available? Thinking Special Orange or Viper Green would look quite good on such a specialized version

Radio not exactly free as Sound Pkg Plus must be added(+$700) to add the N/C radio

You know, it sounds fantastic but a car spec'd like that would probably start looking just a little too good to those dropping twice the money on a GT3 and for that reason alone, I doubt it'll happen, even with the 3.4L engine.

This seems like Porsche wanting to take a bite out of the Lotus Elise and rightfully so...they should've created and dominated the segment. I only hope they continue to apply their founding philosophy to more cars.

Very interesting to read the response on this car in the backdrop of some very passionate reactions toward the Pana...
