With options kept to a minimum, this is a great value and should be a lot of fun to drive.
Congrats. Keep us posted. This is a very exciting car indeed.

Good looking. I wish they would make a t-top Cayman as well. That would be really cool imho

Thanks for the link (photos). A cool video can be found here: http://www.pca.org/Panorama/Panorama...dervideo2.aspx

I've got one on order too -- it was built a week ago -- can't wait until it is here!

Pete et al,

Our full review, including road, track, and rain testing, of the Spyder is up.

www.excellence-mag.com

Can't wait to see your car, Pete! Alex's Spyder was painted last Friday and should be finished today. (Yep, he went through with it and traded his Arctic/black 997 GT3 for a Silver/Cocoa Spyder)...

Best,

pete

Hi Pete! Wow, fantastic write-up (as usual) and high praise indeed!! Yep, decided to pass on the new RS allocation (going to keep the 997.1 GT3RS (and the old 993)) and get this car instead (as my DD). Car should hit the port (in San Diego) in about a week, so it should be here very soon. Can't wait! I will let you know when it is here. Best, Pete

Thanks, Pete...you're not making the wait any easier! Mine was built two weeks ago...I abandoned my original plan to get a GT3 (for now).

Hi, Guys.

Does anyone know a source for the door pull surrounds in carbon? Sounds like the kind of thing someone on this board may have done.

Thanks.

If someone made a targa top for the spyder that was similar to the carrera GT cabin/roof I'd be all over it.

There's a chap in the UK who is looking into getting a CF hardtop built, you can find him on the Boxster Spyder thread on Pistonheads Porsche forum:
http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/f...f=48&mid=86028

Talk of the roof starts on about page 8 of the thread.
You should get in touch with him!

I'm having a hard time deciding on color. What do you all think of aqua blue with white wheels, something like this:
