I have no idea what was in that customers car previously. Its now filled with 5W40 Motul 8100 X-Cess.
I assume the aluminum and silicon are from the block, and the iron is the piston skirt coating.

As an update:
The 2009 Cayman S was black flagged at a DE event for excessive smoke (it has a new AOS). Once it was back at the shop I drained the oil- and it was pitch black and full of sparkles- in less than 1k miles. Refilled the oil, and drove it 10 miles, and drained again, still pitch black, still with sparkles. Scores went from mild to worse. It's finished.

There's only a small number of 9A1 scoring cases that I've seen documented and they looked like the piston siezed (scored on both sides). The failure signature is different from the earlier engine bore scoring. Interesting to see which kind this was.
Please do an LN Engineering DIY rebuild and document the process for us in a new thread! It will be a Rennlist first on a 9A1.

On a 9A1, #1 is first. In what order would the rest be checked? Just curious, I take my 997.2 in for a final inspection and have cylinder 1 scoped while it is still under it's CPO for a month or so. Are there any other cylinders that are likely to fail as prominently as #1? If so then I want those scoped as well.
Any advice?

They aren’t going to fix anything without any symptoms. Don’t waste your time lol.

Why wouldn't I want it checked and or documented while its still under warranty? Car has been exclusively serviced by Porsche dealers its entire life. I have no reason to belive the bores are scored but if it costs me a couple hundred bucks for a P dealer to check and document anything, may get me some goodwill down the road. It's still going in for an oil change, inspection, and an issue with the transmission shifting into 1st gear. I've spent that much for the borescope on dumber things for this car.
