Based on my search, I would just caution anyone from saying they want a car as they would have built it from the factory. Maybe I was looking at the wrong time, but I didnt see any car as I would have built it from the factory. My C2S would have PCCB, Adaptive Sport Seats, Natural Gray Full Leather, Tons of leather all over it, PTS, PDK. I didnt see anything out there that even came close and the couple that I really liked had 50k+ miles (not an issue but I wanted a car with warranty or a Fidelity Warranty so that would have made it expensive to add) or I was reaching out to people on Rennlist individually that had them and they didnt want to part ways or wanted $10k over what it should be. Also noticed most of the high option cars were .1's with Tiptronic and Convertibles.
I am a wine collector and the joy of that hobby is seeing the look on people's faces when they have their first taste of an amazing wine. The look is often a mix of happiness and confusion, like pure joy... but how is this happening? One of the things I often say at that moment - "If you wanted to drink a good wine tonight, you should have thought about that 20 years ago."

It's the same with a Porsche - if you wanted a unique 997 built to your exact specs you should have thought about that 20 years ago.

Or at least 14 years ago as the very first post in the 997 forum seems to indicate.

I found a slew of them in the upper $50ks to upper $60k range that were super clean, +/- 25k miles in February when I was looking.

Okay, so what should we be thinking about Today, for the coming years (20 years)?? lol

Do you predict 997's (like my 997.2 TTS) going up ??

So I see you stepped up. How big are and what are differences you noticed between the 996tt and the 997.2ttS?

I drove a few 996TT's and mine (2001) for the 2.5 months I owned it. All I can say is WOW, when it comes to the performance of the TTS / PDK.
I love a manual and hope to own another someday as an addition (pipe dreams for my income level..lol), but the PDK is amazing to me and not boring at all.
I fit better in the 997TTS but I think it's the Adaptive seats. I'm not small.
Unfortunately I never got a chance to explore our mountain roads with my 996TT, but this 997TTS simply Wow'd me on my first trip up. I posted a video of in my thread.
I was chasing / driving with two friends that have had their 2016 ZO6's for a couple of years. I had a short window to learn this car and stay with them. This car instills confidence!! Period.
I could feel the cars PASM, Active engine mounts, and torque vectoring working beneath me. I've always been on the aggressive side of things when it comes to my driving / riding motorcycles, so this car suits me down to a T!! I LOVE it.
As a former drag racer too, I get tickled silly at the launch control feature. I could do it all day. lol Although I've only done it like 4 times so far. I know it's made to do it, but I just don't want to abuse the car.
I will use it sparingly.

I have ZERO regrets about this purchase vs. a 6MT 997TT or anther 996TT. Don't get me wrong. I'll miss my 6MT for sure but what this car does for me, will make me miss it less and less.
Hope that's the type of response / detail you were looking for.

OH! The fact I made a $6700 profit on my 996TT certainly made the choice to sell a bit easier too. lol

I have had both: 2001 tt, 2003 tt, 2004 tt cab, 2008 tt cab, 2012 tt cab. All were manuals except the 2012 which was a pdk. The 997.2 tt was definitely my fav of the bunch and wouldn't go back to the 996 tt. I would take a 997.2 tt S still.

I know about 5% about Porsches than I know about wine - but probably desirable PTS, 6 speed, sunroof delete, full leather versions would be where I would head. I'd avoid any options that add weight or complexity that don't add performance.

Something like this but without the PDK and sunroof.

It really is a great car. I'm a performance nut, so it suits me well.

Newly listed 2009 6-speed S coupe, 25k miles, black on black for $53k. Looks like a great deal if it checks out.

absolutely perfect in every way including price.
Then the flashback of early-2000s came and realized “oh it’s a Tip.” If only Porsche inro’d the PDKin 2005 there would be man stunning examples of interesting color combos .

Would love if you would help spread the word, and find a good home. Someone that will care for it as I did!
