Last pic is gorgeous with the aerokit

997.1S > 997.2 base - 10 more HP wins hands down, you lose, drop the mic [/QUOTE]

I have neither so I don't lose anything.

By your logic a Challenger Hellcat > GT 350. HP is definitely not everything--especially if the car is a DD.

Never! I'm still laughing. Tone is lost on the interwebz.

Back to deals, I just bid on this thing for fun. Not a 997 but a distant cousin.

If that has the crappy timing guide guides be ready to fix them. I think that year used a belt though, still needs to be changes.

I would agree that for the same money I would buy a similar mileage .2 base over a .1 S but I see exactly one manual .2 CPO coupe in the country and it's $49997. I doubt it could be purchased for low $40s.

I haven't seen a single manual coupe at that price and mileage in the 6 months I've been searching. Can't speak to PDK and/or cabs.

Hi all,

Lifelong 911 fan here...I've decided it's time to get my dream car.

After doing way too much research (and after consulting with my $50,000 budget), I'm set on 997.2 Carreras, or possibly a well priced C2S.

Oh, and I should add. I'm a diehard manual guy. No PDK for me!! :-)

So I found a few I'm very interested in, and would like to get your feedback. I'm in SoCal, so ideally I'm looking for cars in California.

This one I'm really liking. Super clean and meteor gray:

This one has a few nicer options, and it's cheaper...but Arctic Silver is perhaps the most boring color on the 997.2 palette to me:

As far as outside of California, I LOVE this car...but it turns out it has Fabspeed catless headers on it (I asked dealer for video of the undercarriage), which means it'll add extra expense in order to get OEM headers installed, on top of the cost of having it shipped here. Not sure if it's worth the hassle:

There is also this one, that was relisted recently. It has PSS9's, $5k wheels, P03 buckets and a bolt-in rollcage (I emailed to confirm it was bolted in, not welded). It's been at their dealership for five months. But part of me is wary of buying someone else's track toy.

Looks good, except for the PDK part. Reminded me that I should mention that in my original post

Default 97sk" "deals"

On the base 09.2 at Niello, they " jacked" the "ask" price up $1500 in 2 days since listed. I got a return VM 2 hours after autotrader " ping" and have left 3 VMs since with no call back. Fellow R'lister kindly offered " Rennfax" but why bother under current scenario. Nice color combo but " stripper" and now easy $5k over FMV IMHO unless they " shift" to their Porsche sister in law and CPO.

Yeah, I just noticed that they increased the price! I just had the link saved and hadn't revisited it since it was first listed.

Yes, it is belt driven.
