What search tools do you all use? I use:

cars.com
autotrader.com
autotempest (Craigslist search tool)
cargurus.com
autoblog.com
carfax.com
edmunds.com

of course, some of the engines search the other sites so you'll see lots of duplication.

Gonna go fast! Slightly ugly wheels but the IPD plenum is a good addition. Wonder what else it has.

What are the benefits of having the IPD plenum?

Good price, but it had been sent to auction in 2014 immediately after The Collection took it on trade. Definitely not a clean example.

What does that mean in terms of value?

It depends; it being a 911 with a minor carfax blem, the initial hit was $4k; the dealer would likely have kept it had it been a clean car however. Instead, it was immediately sent to auction, which likely means it wasn't clean looking past the minor carfax blem. I noticed the door sills were extremely scuffed up: it may have had dents or significant dings and scratches, or been driven hard. If any of those were true, it probably loses 10k. A good rule of thumb with a 50-70k 911 is 20% if issues are significant. Seems like a $52k normally, so 42k may have been a very reasonable price for it.

You seem like you know your Porsche well, thanks for the insight. When I spoke to the sales manager there, he said this is a nice car and it's worth $50k. In my mind I was thinking, why didn't he try and sell it for that price then...? That was the red flag for me. He initially had the price for $39,999 then later changed it to $42,500. I guess he had guys like me calling and asking about it so he decided to raise the price. Anyways, a guy from Chicago is flying in to buy the car. Good luck to him.

That would be an incredible deal. Unfortunately the car is a base coupe, the pics are of another car they have for sale.

Original MSRP: $83,670. Carrara White Exterior with Black Leather Interior. Automatically Dimming Interior and Exterior Mirrors, Standard Seats, 19" Turbo II Wheel, Manual transmission, Bluetooth Interface for Mobile Phone, Extended Navigation Module for PCM 3.0, BOSE, XM, Floor Mats in Interior Color, Universal Audio Interface.

That is what I thought too. Then I drove a cab, with that rich sport exhaust roaring in my ear. My wife decided then and there we are now cab people. I have to agree (although the 997 cab does look a bit funky in comparison to the sleeker 991 profile). Trouble is, she has monopolized the 911. Combination of a cab, C2S manual with every single performance option, and full leather, and it was bye-bye to her BMW 335is very quickly.

I wouldn't mind owning a coupe again, as I like the visual better, but from a driving experience, it's Cab hands down. The exhaust is arguably the most visceral experience of driving a 911, and the coupe just doesn't sound the same. If I had the $, I would buy a 981 Boxster Spyder just for that sound as well.
