What did you do to your 997 today?

Burning Brakes
Started doing a quick respray of my buddies 991 (yes this is 997 forum, but I'm a 997 owner) calipers. It has been really cold and it took a while to warm the garage up. I've done this before where I remove the caliper and do a really thorough job but he didn't care about areas that couldn't be seen. I don't have a before picture but they were pretty nasty as the base 911 brakes often get.
I say quick but I clean, sand, prime, many coats of base, then stencil, and clear. So it takes a little while and we enjoyed beer and margaritas. He loves it and that is what matters:

Looks great! Think I'm gonna paint mine red when I do pads/rotors.

Installed one of my "Santa gifts"...BMC air filters. Easy job and well documented on this forum. Took about 30 minutes; I spent some time cleaning the air box, mass air flow sensor and some other stuff.
I have had a Craftsman screw starter for many years. It has saved my a@# many times. It hold screws that mount in weird places and get the threads started; I can then get the torx on them to tighten the screws down. Some of the screws around the air box lid were started using this nifty little tool.

My 997 is one of the ones with the stamping under the hood crest, and the RUF hood logo didn't completely cover it, which I wasn't crazy about, but found a guy with a RUF hood crests and had him custom paint one for my R-Kompressor. I went with the silver base metal, RUF green and the GT silver color of my car for the logo in the checkered flag motif, and black for the other graphics - lions and Pfaffenhausen (where RUF is based out of). It's also a completely filled crest so although the recessed area with the textured metal looks open the whole surface of the crest is smooth.
Really happy with the result.

Thanks BER and Wayne. The green is actually a little darker than it looks here. I had to brighten the photos and it lightened the colors a little.

Fitted Sport Classic front lip.

Plugged her in for a little trickle charge. Added new mats and shift ****.
Note : aftermarket Black Forrest **** does not fit numeric shifter without modifications to the **** base. It was off by .3mm and needed bored out.

Bored, so removed rear seats.
Finally got around to removing rear seat backs and the velcro attached seat bottoms. Job required flat screw driver to pop off the plastic parts covering the bolts, as well as two torx sockets ( a 40mm and a smaller one i forget size). It took no longer than 15 minutes.
What did i gain? Hmmm. Oh probably around 15 horse powa. Mainly, I gained the trivial satisfaction of doing it. There's the slight chance that the BOSE audio is a bit clearer/louder at full blast..but that's just me talking.

Installed MACarbon AC buttons. Great product. Worth the time and money. Hated looking at those cheap, black falling off controls. Can't believe Porsche used such cheap materials in the first place.
