I installed a red "S", I kept the old one incase I get sick of this one. Waiting for info to install a center front grill, three grills will be next. Raining out, AGAIN!
I've got one coming in the mail.
How did you get the old one off?
-First I marked the original S with masking tape ( i used blue painters tape), top and bottom, and measure between the S and the a in "Carrera".
-Second applied some Goo Gone, around the edges of the old silver S, and let is soak in for ten minutes.
-Third, took some fishing line and kind of sawed around the old S. I came off easily.
-Fourth - cleaned up with more Goo Gone, dried, alcohol pad and installed new S
Hope this helps, I used this method on my C7 when I took all the chrome badges off and replaced with carbon flash badges, it works well and doesn't hurt the paint!

I do not subscribe to most NorCal nonsense. Smoking (in all forms) is not NorCal, it is deadly. Your choice.
Smoking is not NorCal, but chastising other adults for exercising their individual freedom is NorCal. For all you know the OP may smoke one cigar a week. Clearly harmless, but never-the-less, none of my business or yours. Truth is, driving a Porsche may be more harmful to one's health than an occasional cigar!

And I thought (or at least was my intention) that I was just applying pressure among friends to stop a deadly practice.

I appreciate your good intentions , but cigars, like many things in life are only deadly if abused, just like Porsches. However, in a free society, I am sure the OP would like to make those decisions for himself.
Drove one hour and fifteen minutes to my local (haha) Cars & Coffee Blue Ridge Porsche event and met up with a new Rennlister. Really enjoyed a beautiful drive, great breakfast and about 10 Porsches.
