I think you have to live with the hood stripe a while. It is very subtle and unique. That doesn't make it bad. So long as you can take it off, you have nothing to lose. Bold...good for you.
Washed, waxed, f$&@ed up some paint ... Recovered nicely
Washed polished and waxed the beast this weekend. Somehow ended up with gawd awful swirl marks around the "turbo" emblem. Panicked .... started thread about needing a detailer ... took a deep breath, recovered, debadged, polished a second and third time, applied paint glaze, applied wax. Problem solved. Good as new and debadged.
For those considering the plasti-dip per below .... you so much as nick that with a variable speed buffer and poof - chrome again. Apparently the previous owner of mine had plasti-dipped the Turbo logo. Nicking it was my final motivation to debadge. I will order a new turbo emblem and paint it flat back prior to install. Not that you can't tell it's a turbo without an emblem, but ... whatever. Just glad I was able to recover from my own f$&@ up. Thanks Griots!
Washed all last month's pollen off - tough time of year for a black car in ATL - thank goodness that is mostly over now!
Then I put black caps (19mm from Amazon) on the lug bolts. Had to replace the security bolt with a plain one, but seems like no one thinks those things do much good anyway, so...
Rotors are a little ruddy after the wash, but cleaned up now.
socalarchitect do you have a pic of the rear with the matt black turbo emblem?
Is it noticable?
Nick

I decided to install the side "Carrera S" and hood stripe. Wasn't sure if I would like it or not. But so far I'm satisfied. And if I don't like it later I can take it off! Matt black on black seems to be right for me.
