What did you do to your 997 today?

Did a brake fluid flush using a pressure bleeder and a jack. It wasn't too difficult. We DID take the wheels (Carrera S II) off to make it easier to reach the inside bleed valves. The Porsche engineers did a good job in their design to make this easy to do.

I turned 65,000 today and received my first Blackstone oil analysis results.
All is fine and some comments were, "It looks like you picked up a well-maintained Porsche based on these results. Universal averages show typical wear levels after about 4,000 miles of oil use, so the extra iron is fine since this oil was in place for a longer interval. The previous owner used 10,000-mile intervals, and some of that iron has probably snowballed over the last ~65,000 miles, which also helps explain the higher iron reading. By using 5,000 mile intervals, iron won't have as much time to accumulate, so look for less iron next time. The other metals should hold steady. Physically, the oil was fine. Nice!"
FYI I purchased my car about 800 miles ago, I'm the third owner and the car was CPO'd at 30k. The car has been consistently driven in a warmer climate 7-12k miles a year for roughly 7 years. Oil always changed at p-dealer in 7-10k mi intervals with this last one being done by me at home with Mobil 1 and about 6,700 mi since last change.

I'm curious which analysis you went with from Blackstone? Besides oil analysis did you do another others?

Bad news: had to pay for tax, title, licensing. Good news: Suncoast order came in. Put in new LED interior lights, LED rear plate lights, rubber floor mats and clear side markers. Not difficult at all. LED interior lights just need a pry tool, a small screwdriver worked for me. Plate lights are a philips screwdriver and pry tool, side markers are plug and play.
Love the look of the rubber floor mats! LED really makes the car look so much nicer. Thought I had 2 leftover bulbs until I realized I forgot about the glovebox and engine compartment. Next up are a new steering wheel with multifunction refinished by Dallas to be thicker with contrast stitching, sticky no more buttons, Carrera S II rims, fix droopy cup holder, new leather shift boot, replace speakers and possibly add a roof rack for snow sports/christmas tree/biking. Then I will be done for now.

Parked in the garage just in time to not be delinquent on my PDK oil change. 51 weeks into my stewardship of the car and just less than 25K miles and I love it more than the day I drove it home laughing along the way.

Installed four new Bridgestone S-04s, as the MPSS 305 rears are still completely unavailable. Great price from TR. Seem very quiet, and quite sticky. I'll likely get the MPSS when they finally become available, but I'm very pleased with these, for now.
Also got the bespoke Seventies era Carrera RS inspired "Carrera GTS" decals in from the UK. I really love how subtle they are; I doubt most non-enthusiasts can even tell they're different from the OEM decals They're fun, and inspired by the famous graphics from the time just before I was born. Cars from that time seem so cool to me. Anyway, they're just vinyl, so I can revert back to stock at any time.
This photo shows the new decals, the black OEM center lock nuts, the black center caps with colored crests, and the all black "GTS+" tips. I'm very pleased with these subtle little enhancements. Oh, and I also just installed my new PCA sticker.
I think red ones on a black GTS would look pretty cool.
I had to order quite a few sets, in order for the mini-project to be viable. They are made of the highest grade vinyl, and produced by a renowned restoration specialist who works on genuine RSRs and the like. PM me here if you're interested in a set for your car. Thanks!

I'm about 18 mos. into my ownership, and I agree with you, I love this car more than the day I drove it home from Houston. Apart from a few long road trips, I more or less babied and fretted over it during my 1st year of ownership. Now, I've started to get a bit more daring (for me) - Sport Plus, using the PDK buttons, etc. - and spend more time enjoying it and less time worrying about it…T

Play with them together, if not for yourself, then for me!
And find a twisty road full of 20 and 30 mph curves and keep the rpms above 4K. Don't go past 4th gear. Get near red line. You can thank me later!
