You're just looking at pictures of Euro models. That area hasn't changed for the US market.

Does PCNA "help" dealers in this situation? I'm thinking of an east coast dealer that has a power kit C2S cab on eBay right now. MSRP 135k or so. The '08 power kit is $16k up in smoke relative to an '09.

I like the car, but it would have to be priced way, WAY, WAY off MSRP - otherwise, why wouldn't I just wait for an '09? There can't possibly be enough dealer margin to close that gap.

from the rear, the facelifted C2S looks a bit like a "dumb guy with buckteeth", doesn't it?

I would think in certain cases Porshce would help subsudize the 08's for the dealers.....some stores are going to be challanged just finding space for the 09's. Then again, US allocations will likely be a bit light due the the weak dollar, so who knows...

The guy that designed those rear tailights was most likely also responsible for the droopy headlights on the later 996's.
I'm guessing he's a nephew of someone important at Porsche.
Maybe some tuner will be offering an orthodontic fix .

"factory-to-dealer incentives", long the buzzword of the US makes, are any bargain hunter's friend. i've had my eye on a few local caymans S here, watching and waiting as the end of each successive month approaches and 30 more days tacks on to the time-in-inventory, hoping they'll find a way to sweeten the deal by a bit with the passing time. i'm not sure how it works in the absence of a dealer-incentive to move merch, but hope springs eternal that i can find a way for a dealer to lose another few % points off the price so they can lose the deadweight inventory and i can help them do so!

What 'situation' are you talking about? Just b/c they have a power kit car doesn't mean PCNA throw's them $$ for ordering that car in the 1st place.

You either want an 08 for some stupid deal; or you want an 09. Regardless; you're in Canada. New car's can't be sold to you anyways.*

I can not see Porsche discounting a X51 more just because it is an 2008 model. There is a lot of labor cost involved in the X51 engine plus different internal parts that they probably do not pay the same for *** the mass produced parts. Porsche probably forcasted just enough parts to build X51 engines and could not care one way or another if some orders a 2008 X51 car right now or waits and orders a 2009 C2S in a few weeks.

In my quest to get a 2009 with PDK I just found out from a dealer that apparently they're on quota and they're all accounted for (sold) in the first 6 months of allocations.

After having money down for a couple months I'm kind of slightly mad. I didn't know there would be such supply pressure on these cars.

To make matters worse, according to him PTS is not available yet either. So from him I could only get a manual in regular colors unless Porsche makes more PDK allocation available.
