I don't like the droop in the tail lights, but I could live with it. After all, I don't see the tail lights much.

The steering wheel, on the other hand, is ugly, and I'd be seeing it all the time.

I wouldn't turn it down, but I'm not going to be lining up to trade mine in for one.

The lobster forks are dead...long live the lobster forks. Not sure i like the new Carrerra S II wheel that's replacing the lobsters.

I hate the new steering wheel, but I'm welling to bet that these ones may outsell the early 997s.

Wheels on the blue car above look very similar to the wheels on the previous generation (C5) Z06 Corvette.

Wheels on the blue car look very Ferrari-ish. (That's good--Ferrari has always had good 5 spoke wheel designs.)

Well, I like it. It's not a 996-997 change, nothing drastically different from early models on the outside, and I'm glad. I had considered an 09 but was a little worried that the looks would change because I absolutely love the current look. I wanted the anticipated, but as yet then unconfirmed extra hp, but frankly the savings I got on my 08 C2S mitigated that yearning.

I'm not particularly enamored of the new Z06 look wheels but I think the new PASM coilovers should be a direct transfer to earlier cars and is just the right height in my opinion.

In short a win, win for us all in my opinion. It's still a 997 and the 09er's get some more hp to brag about. I can't wait to see the first road tests and hear the feedback from other rennlisters when they get their 09.

Kudos, Porsche!

Default hmmmmmmm

I must be seeing a different car then some here.... I would say it looks fair at best. Fair meaning no better then 997, wich is a beautiful car just saying I do not see many 997 owners rushing out to sell their pre 09 cars for this looks wise. Power wise maybe a different story. Like current 997 tail lights better, but do like the front facia better and the pcm set up better here in the 09. Eager to see in person though....pics only say so much. Thanks for posting....

Overall the new design looks like a lateral move. Not worse. Possibly slightly better if anything. The tech changes will be more worth it for the takers.
Im still holding mine for now.
