The 996T is a mythic, and direct successor of the 959. 997T / 991 are tremendous sport cars, but IMO they carry no spiritual force; regardless of numbers. To a man, every owner who has sold a 996T for something “newer” suffers deep remorse. And many return. Owning this car is like a mythic quest; you can’t put a number on that.
I definitely like the quote a lot, having owned two very nice 996TTs myself. But I can also assure you that I don't feel any remorse whatsoever for selling my second one to buy my 997.1 GT2. I sleep very easy with this swap!
On a previous BAT GT2 auction, my finger was hovering over the bid submit button with 10 seconds to go. I came to my senses in the last 3 seconds. Something in the garage really needs to go before I get another Porsche. I came close to letting emotions rule my decision.
If you want a wing I say go for it. How much modification is needed to swap on the GT2 wing?

Folks what is the prevailing wisdom on the GT-2 bumper & wing; is that Kosher or poser?
Hey it's your car do what you want. I wouldn't bother unless you really like the look or actually need more aero. The only time it crosses over into poser is if you tack on a GT2 badge.
Personally, I find the lower priced one with the Metropol interior to be a more desirable car (but I like offbeat interior colors). I'm guessing the crazy price on the one that's currently going is a combination of the very low miles, "safe" color combo, very good photographs, and a well respected seller with a history of offering very nice vehicles for sale on BaT.
I'm guessing the blue interior, more miles and the fact that the seller, 911r, puts up great driving videos and professional photos. He has a good reputation.
I'm with you, particularly since I'd like Polar better than Artic and I don't like that goofy "Turbo X50 sticker", that's the loserest of all loser stickers to me. Photos are nicer for the artic one though.
