lol well that is a very nice example... Speed Yellow + Tubi and all the right interior options. This should get all the bids.

That Tubi exhaust sounds excellent

I agree with you though. I have a 996 Turbo as my personal car and I’ve sold a good amount of them. They’re amazing cars for the money.

Highish miles and no PCCB or Aerokit, has some mods. I would expect this to sell for $80k +/- $5k.

I remember when I purchased my car new in 2003, dealerships were giving heavy discounts to move speed yellow cars. They were probably the most unpopular cars back then. I also remember the 40th anniversary cars were being discounted $20K plus to get rid of them.

This car was the first time I've heard a Tubi exhaust on a 996 Turbo and I think it sounds great.

Might be a good time to buy. Hopefully BaT and sellers are taking the recent dip in luxury goods values into account when setting the reserves. Lots of RNMs over the past 8 weeks for vehicles that have been in the queue.

That example seems to bear all of the goldilocks traits. I hate speculating on numbers as the market can be fickle and it depends on who is in the room, but after watching a LOT of BaT sales, here is what I think matters;

- Low enough mileage
- Rare & desirable colour (Cobalt Blue, Guards Red, Carrara White, Speed Yellow)
- Car has been dry-iced, and is reasonably well presented.

The questions around paint meter readings and a DME report will invariably surface, and if the Seller plays along and provides them and there are no uncertainties, this could do quite well, $90K+, but as I said, it depends on a lot of things.

I have a slightly different attitude when it comes to buying and selling these cars. I don’t try to buy at the absolute market bottom and I wouldn’t lower my reserve because of a market downturn. I’ve seen too many downturns and recoveries. I would set a realistic reserve price what I and the auction house thought the car was worth. Those looking for a deal could keep scrolling. At the worst, I would suffer through the pain and anguish of continuing to drive a 450+ HP turbo charged 911.

With that said, 2 of my 3 Porsches have more than tripled in value (over the long term) and they were not bought at the bottom of the market for the cheapest price. Only if I was in the business of selling cars, or changing cars every year or two would I be concerned that I was slightly overpaying in the short term.

didn't expect to see this one end below 60k, wasn't sure reserve had even been met

With 60k miles and it's spec that car is not really collector grade and PCar Market does not bring the money BaT does.

this one was also marked as cold by collectorcars at 49k https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/2...auctionResults

but now collectorcars has it listed at 83k https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-...ckType=listing

guess it didn't actually sell, sometimes hard to figure out what goes on on pcar market

These last two cars do not look like Prestige cars to me. More fitting for the craigslist finds thread.

I saw that one on eBay for awhile. As I dealer I was tempted to give it a shot to see if I could get it sorted but ended up deciding it would be too much work.

Seems like lately BAT is having a endless supply of 996 tt’s.
They had a set of tt hollow spoke wheels that just sold for $6100. That’s got to be a record

$6000 for a set of hollow spoke Turbotwists is insane.
