They're asking $33K for this Tippy. 3 owners, 103K miles and carfax shows lots of frequent service -- even had an aftermarket warranty apparently.

Could be a nice entry level Turbo for not a lot of money.

Went to help a friend of a friend check out a car locally over the weekend. If they'd go lower, might be worth it for someone who DIYs everything... otherwise a likely big PASS.

http://www.ahford.net/used/Porsche/2...earchDepth=2:2

Aftermarket:
Stereo (on in dealer pictures but we couldn't get it working)
EVOMS Diverters and F Pipe
Tune (fairly certain, 1 bar seen on pull)
K40 (**** matched whats in my car) radar install, wasn't working though
Clear bra on entire front end (could be from recent paint work per the 'replacement fenders' in the dealer comments below)

Issues we found:
Squealing brakes, awful low speed slowing joy
Spoiler throwing code, hit or miss if it retracted
Leak from far back left of engine, lowest point at head
996 scar from wiper on C pillar
chip/crack in back left taillight (both mounts suffering from typical cracks)
front diff noise (we suspect that was the location of a droning/whir we heard through entire drive)
Wiff of coolant smell at front right corner
Wet clutch reservoir
edit: computer stalk partially broken (works but quite loose)

Issues simply mentioned by local Porsche dealer who had already done a PPI on it, they said to walk...:
Steering issue
New replacement fenders
leaks etc...

Ford sales guy didn't even really flinch when we mentioned initial issues we saw, "its a used Porsche on a Ford lot". Felt more like a take it or leave it, priced to sell despite issues.

^as someone that is capable of DIY on everything, at that price, I'd pass as well.

Bonus points for them by adding that sweet Arlington Heights Ford emblem to the decklid though...

Last person who bought it returned it, apparently it had some oil burning issues and they fought until dealership took it back. It came up on the 996 turbo facebook group.

It was also for sale on Craigslist earlier last year.

996 turbo facebook group? Would I be able to join it? I don't have my turbo yet, but you can see I'm looking to buy once I find it.

Me too. Driver's seat has seen better days, aftermarket stereo, and USB ports. Love the midnight blue, meh on cinnamon. Kind of hard to arrange PPI with 4 days to go, purchase and pray?

Depends where it ends at I guess. Where does anyone think that would be?

I'd do low 40s with a reasonable PPI, mid to high 30s without PPI.

I found his listing on Pelican, asking $55k OBO...GLWS.

Good find. I was originally looking for an X50 in Midnight blue, but couldn't find one. Wonder what the reserve price is? I noticed quite a few ebay listings where the reserve price are rarely met...
