Flood damage is scary... Maybe it was 8" of water and just the immobilizer, maybe not. Current owner isn't the one that owned it when the damage occurred.

I agree, the first thing that went through my mind was all those connectors/harnesses/wires/etc. with corrosion on them! Very scary indeed. I was thinking that if the ad is reasonably accurate it sounds like a good project car for someone looking to build a track car or other highly modded build. If it really is solid chassis/body/engine/trans in the mid to high $20's could be worth a look for the right person. Maybe

It takes like 1 foot of water to reach the door sill level... 8"? Who measured?!

Maybe if somebody was interested in buying it, inspect the electrical connectors for any kind of corrosion?

I think if one can get that car for in the high $20's, it would make a fantastic track car build.

Looks like the flood car is no longer listed on Craigslist. I suspect it didn't last long at $29k or whatever sub-$30k price it was at. A year and a half ago, salvage title cars on Copart with engine or tranny issues were still bringing $25k.

Probably a reasonable deal given the questions regarding maintenance. This is the car that was missing a lug bolt on the front right wheel.

Correct. Yes, I agree, that was probably well bought.

It is still on eBay. Probably trying to cut down on local people wanting to come see it in the flesh.

Have been browsing the market for a while just trying to get a gauge on pricing.

Been looking for a black/grey "higher mileage"car (more like 40-50k seems to be sweet spot) and I found this pretty high mileage one.

Pictures make it look clean. I'd think $38-$40k is more reasonable with that mileage and those mods.

I'm a lurker too. Personally I'd save my 43k for a 2002-2004 with this kind of mileage. I'd prefer something beyond 60k miles because by then some the usual failures have been fixed. I think 38-40 is a good price for this one too, aftermarket wheels are always a negative IMO, as is a hot lot source.

Interesting. I'm looking for a car with "all the bells and whistles" (wheels/brakes/exhaust/clutch already done on top of the usual maintenance). Should give me a good "go-forward" platform when I'm ready to switch out the turbos.

This may fit what you want though.

Yes that is a nice one with X50, he has it listed on RL too, it's had some hail damage but that doesn't bother me too much since I'm looking for a DD. If this one is still here in the spring I'll take a look.

What's RL? Trying to check all my sources to find my 996. All I have is ebay, autotrader, cars.com and craigslist

EDIT: Nevermind, I'm slow...RL=Rennlist lol
