Default This might be a great opportunity for someone in LA/OC/SOCAL

https://losangeles.craigslist.org/la...007335566.html

I don’t remember last time I saw a white (unicorn) Porsche 996 turbo for sale on Craigslist. I actually don’t think I’ve ever come across one. Well, there is always a first and I think it’s a great deal at $35K. If I didn’t already have my baby in the garage, I think I would strongly consider picking this one up as white would have been/was my first choice! Even though it has 130K miles and aftermarket wheels (although they look a lot like stock turbo twists?) it is a 6speed white 996 turbo that looks to be in great shape. I am sure there is room for negotiation as well and knowing these people/sellers on Craigslist, I wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up going down to $30K if someone showed up with cash. Anyway, I thought I’d let you guys know. He definitely needs more pictures especially of the interior as well as a better and more detailed description, but I’m sure once you get in touch with him/her, you should have a great idea what the car is about. Good luck!

I'm near enough Bell Gardens to go look, but 817-966-1677 is the contact number for the unicorn, and it appears to be a dealer in Kileen TX who mostly deals with Corvettes. So proceed with caution.

Bell Gardens is a rough hood. I grew up in the town next door in the 70's and it was rough even back then.

So what do you think is wrong with this car and why wouldn't you buy it? It's priced quite low and advertises as clean and sorted, but I think it's been for sale for months. Seems too good to be true.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with the car at all, which is why the somewhat high price for an almost 60K miles car. It has some mods, which will turn some buyers off, on the other hand, some buyers might like it. Again, in my honest opinion, I think the cars been listed for a few months because of the higher price and not because something is wrong with it. Some members will say the price is just right and fair, but in my opinion, if I was looking for myself and my budget was $50K, I’d be able to find a mint example with 20ishK miles instead and maybe for even less than $50K here in SoCal.
Best,

My guess is it's because of the modifications.

50K loonies is 38K US currently, that is a lot of car for the money. The mods and the gray interior are the turn offs to a lot though. It's a buyers market right now. Plus, in the northern areas people put their cars away for the winter so buying one and watching it sit in the garage for 6 months is not ideal. It's odd that the seller would take it off insurance though, that seems risky.

Aside from the awful all gray interior, that car is exactly what I would want in a car if I were shopping for another one. Some people are turned off by modifications, some people like buying cars with some of the expensive ones already done (like suspension and exhaust).

If those were the only modifications on that car it might have sold already.

There is also a good chance it has been in an accident, being from metro Vancouver...

Nyuofa,
Do you remember the price that SW Vintage was asking? It just sold on BAT for $55K. That color combo is one of my favorites but I just couldn't get off the pot to try for it.
Thx much -- Fastduck (tail)

Almost identical to mine in every way. Mileage, carbon interior, seal gray over black, except mine is a tip. Anyway, I live in San Diego and if anyone would like me to take a look at it this weekend, let me know and I’d be happy to.
