The photos look like they were taken with a potato, so they aren't very crisp, but at a minimum I suspect the following:
- Needs lots of catch-up maintenance and has no records
- The interior looks a bit worn (the carbon trim looks pretty yellowed)
- The headlights need to be polished
- It has narrow body Carrera wheels on it
- Tiptronic
- I bet the paint needs a lot of TLC

Regardless, that could be a good deal if it checks out as overall pretty clean. My car was in a similar state when I bought it and it hasn't cost me a whole lot of money to bring it up to snuff (just a lot of my time).

Not a bad way to gain entry to the 996tt world at sub-$30k. Would be a fantastic DD.

Really? That’s why it’s sub $30K? Tip 996 turbos at 85K miles sure are piece of **** cars, right? That’s what you’re trying to “say”, right? Wow, good for you.

Nobody’s saying an 85k mile tippy is a POS, it’s just that the reason it isn’t a $40k plus car is that it isn’t a 45k mile 6-speed. It’s up for sale by a small dealer who probably got it at the auction for $26k or $27k. It’s probably a little rough (most at small dealerships are). According to the ad, the price was recently dropped by over $3,000. He’s probably had it on his lot for a while and is trying a fire sale price before dumping it back at the auction. 996tt tiptronics are wonderful cars, and this one would be a great buy for someone who actually plans to drive the car. Not every car can be a low-mileage, pristine garage queen. And thank God for that - I’d much rather enjoy driving a higher mileage car compared to obsessing over every mile and rock chip I put on a garage queen.

Yeah, I have a piece of **** 85K tip. And you’re the reason why many people look at Porsche owners the way they do, which is a shame. I don’t even know you, but your thought provoking and insightful posts show me everything I need to know about you. Now go back to watching nascar...

What, the hell, is wrong with you; man?
i wasnt even trying to **** anyone off and you go off on a tangent. Im not ****ting on your car, or anyone elses. Manual cars are more desireable esp now, since, you know people don't buy them as much new.

Also, if you ain't first, yer last; thats what my daddy used to always say.
