I am not a Cab fan but could certainly live with this one. Very well done.

Well there's the rub, isn't it? We're just looking at photos and description....it means very little without a thorough examination of the car and it's service history.

No overrevs? I would think that every used 911 has some type 1s and maybe even a few type 2s.

How does a Turbo S not have Sport Seats?

Supple sofas are underrated. I liked mine a lot. Didn't feel any need for a tracky kind of seat.

Yep, bright red tape graphics and red wheels do not make for a high selling price, even if easily reversible. It didn't help either that the seller refused to provide a DME report and undercarriage pics. I'd be willing to bet that the BaT folks advised him against all of those things. On both of the cars I sold on BaT (way, way cheaper cars than a 996tt), the BaT adviser/ad writer absolutely insisted on undercarriage pics.

I had supple leather seats on my '99 and liked them. I have sport seats on my 996tt. Not a lot of difference there other than the exterior color painted seatbacks on the sport seats and the fact that the adjustments on the sport seats are manual (except for recline angle). I was thinking just the other day that the little vestigial shoulder bumps don't seem to make much of a difference to me. And, correct me if I am wrong, but seems like nearly every hardcore track guy installs GT3 type buckets. I certainly wouldn't pass on a car because it had supple leather. People seem to mistake the "wrinkles" or "creases" in the supple leather for wear when in actuality that's how they came from the factory.

I personally didn't order supple leather because I didn't want my new 996 Turbo's seats to look worn out from day one.

I align with Nick Saban (Alabama's head coach) on the topic of "worn out", and apply what he said about jeans to supple leather seats. He opined...

“Not to offend anybody out there, but I just walked by some jeans. Wore-out jeans, holes in them, all cut up. I just remember when I was a kid in West Virginia. I was ashamed to go to school because my jeans were wore out, only because we didn’t have any better. Now they buy them that way. How’d we get here?”

Tell Nick how we got here is called rock and roll. The kids love it.
