I'm the happy new owner of the Meridian Metallic 996 Turbo! If you have any questions, feel free to ask. The short of the long of it though - seller was a tough guy to work with, maybe he didn't take me seriously, but in the end it worked out for me and I'm now driving an awesome car!

Thanks guys! Looks like it could be a possible drain plug leak, very minor though. Bringing her in for a 60k service to make sure we start with a clean slate.

So nelsontod, you bought the tiptronic with the Metropol blue interior in Seattle? That seems like a helluva good deal.

I found a 997TT I might try to purchase, so my 2001 996TT might be up for sale.

Blk/Blk, 6MT, 87K miles, Lots of records, New clutch, rotors / pads, AC system, etc.

$38,500

PM me if you want detail / vids of the car walk around.

This dealer is about a quarter of a mile from my place here in Seattle. I'm curious on how the Tip drives compared to the manual with the turbo. I've driven several 996s with the Tip and didn't like it. Hope to see an intro thread like KC is demanding, err suggesting.

And happy to help with logistics here locally if that would be beneficial for you.

thanks! I have yasmin at autostar picking it up today. 2 weeks to get it to minneapolis! Oh well. He said maybe sooner.

I will get an intro thread going. I owned a 2003 manual c4s and didnt like it. I cant really explain it, but it might be related to the weight of the car and the all wheel drive. Made me feel like i was driving a tractor sometimes. I will put the turbo in Drive and probably let it do its thing as i step on the gas.

I think a lot of people would be interested in following a thread on your new car, nelsontod. There is a lot of discussion in here on the plusses and minuses of buying low versus high mileage cars. This is a model that pretty much everyone agrees has a very robust engine and tranny. On the other hand, anything over about 60k miles is considered "high miles" and many buyers won't consider such a car. So, I'm definitely interested in knowing what it's like to drive/live with a truly high mileage car.
