Will do. What should the title of the thread be?

FYP. Btw when I buy another 996tt, it will most likely be a 6-digits mileage one.

No, I think right here in the 996 Turbo forum. If you wanted to do a sister post over on 996outpost.com, I'm sure they'd appreciate it as well. As for title, I think something along the lines of "Living with a High Mileage 996TT", so that future searchers can find it easily. My prediction is that the engine & tranny aren't going to give you any serious problem anytime soon. What probably will be a little higher in maintenance will be the peripherals - wheel bearings, half-shafts, alternator, etc. But, I think a lot of those things will age out even on a low-mileage car. But, I'm just guessing. Macster had a high-mileage 996TT. I can't remember exactly how many miles, but I think around the same as yours. He was getting frustrated with maintenance, but then again, he always had the dealership service it, so that makes it more $$. On the other hand, I believe he sold his for around $29k. Bottom line, I'm really interested to see how it goes for you. A lot of these cars are hitting the 100k miles mark now simply due to age. My car is now 16 years old, and although it's only got 57k miles on it, the average 16 year old car would have hit 100k miles by now by only averaging 6,250 miles per year. That's not exactly driving the wheels off of a car.

As I look into my crystal ball, I can see the RF headlight was replaced. Actually, per the listing's pictures, a non-Turbo light was substituted, fully functional but visually different........congrats, performance per dollar that is hard to beat, enjoy!

I’ve had mine for 2.5 years now bought it at 148k mikes. just passed 160k. I daily drive it (swapping between it and the GT4) and it’s been an awesome car. Other than a weird seal in the differential which had to be custom fabed to stop a very slow leak (caught in PPI), only issue has been water pump and belt replacement which is normal for any car with miles. It’s an incredible daily and while I wish it were manual I’ve gotten used to the tippy and its been convenient at times to have. Also since it was high miles and eBay I think it’s been the lowest priced no-accident 996TT sold since I bought it, and I enjoy the heck out of it. Even after driving the GT4, going back to the torque of the Turbo gives me a smile

If yours is anything like mine, you’re going to love it.

Hmm, that car started out as a narrow body C4 and was turned into a turbo. Shows 3.6 engine, but doesn't say it is a Mezger. I would proceed with extreme caution regardless.

You can see that it's a metzger engine by the oil filter location.

I'm curious as to what the value could be for this?
