Wanted to share this with my peeps. X50, RUF Aero, Carrera White, Natural Brown Full Leather with Sport Seats, HREs, Suspension. As many of you know I have always been bullish on 996's and I feel that I've priced her at market pricing.

Thanks!

I created her for the community to be honest. I am near break even at asking price after all the mods I added. My most recent Minerva Blue build was recently featured in excellence magazine and I stand behind my builds.

Are you serious? You expect to get nearly $75k for this car? You never get money back on mods.

You're deep into clean 997TT territory with that price.

I am, yes, if you think so then get a 997. There is a completely different part of the forum to fanboy the 997. This car is unique so I can ask whatever I want. BTW... since you only have 45 posts I will educate you to the FACT that 996's do sell in the 70's if they are special enough. Maybe even 80's.

Thanks for coming out to post.

Al's done this very same thing before. He's been into 996 turbos for quite a while now. He knows the breed. His last project was written up in Excellence. http://www.excellence-mag.com/issues...p#.V5uVD_krIY0
So, not only is he serious, he has a track record.
I purchased my '03 X50 from Al a little over four years ago.

I have no doubt that some here think the car is worth nearly $75k. The good news is there is a sucker born every minute so I'm sure with enough time he'll be able to pull the wool over someone's eyes.

The car has high miles for a collector car, isn't original, has no PCCB, and its 23K over the price of the other white 996 that he couldn't sell for nearly 2 months @ 50k despite lowering the price twice.

I'll take my knowledge of what a car's worth versus his post count. He overpaid for the last white one at 53.3k and he then couldn't sell it for 2 months at 49.5 (savvy buyer).

If this was a random car on ebay we'd all be tearing it apart right now but I guess having ~1k posts equates to 23K over book on cars you sell on the boards.

Wow. Not sure why you are so negative about valuations? Not looking for a sucker. In a few short months, I have improved the car by $23k, yes and thank you. You're new to the Porsche world so you will learn that there are times were things appreciate because sometimes you can find deals on cars whose values are "dislocated" in the market place. I looked at your recent grey acquisition and I think it's a great looking car. I'm sure you got a good deal and if you ever chose to sell then i'm sure you'll be praising me for pushing the envelope. Or maybe not. I don't know you. Maybe you're just different than most other logical consumers. I'm not sure what you're incentive for knocking higher data points would be?

Also, this entire comment is false:

"I'll take my knowledge of what a car's worth versus his post count. He overpaid for the last white one at 53.3k and he then couldn't sell it for 2 months at 49.5 (savvy buyer)."

Both numbers you list are incorrect. You have zero clue what I paid and someones cost basis is really none of your business buddy.

I'm done talking to you now.

You can get all huffy and launch into the whole used car salesman dance about how rare the car you're hawking is but the reality is you've overpriced this car just like the last one you posted on the boards. That's fine, and I'm not even insinuating that's not well within your right.

I HOPE IT SELLS FOR 1 BILLION, by proxy mine and everyone else's on the board would be worth a couple million easy.

You asked what my incentive was for knocking your price. Its just comedy to me, when I read about some guy asking nearly 75k for a 40k+ miles 996 without PCCB and a bunch of gaudy mods I can't help but ask that person.... Are you serious?

I'll second
