I was the one who saw the car.

I don't want to speculate whether the oil leak was major or minor, since I don't want to be responsible for the final selling price. I can say that I came to this forum asking for help purchasing a car and decided to pass on that particular one. I was told it could be minor or major and without a PPI I know nothing else.

I've since deleted the photos I took of the underside of the car since he has added his own to the BaT listing.

The BaT listing or comments don't mention the leak or the 2nd gear pop out at all. Hopefully the winning bidder doesn't get screwed over. Have you considered posting your experience of seeing the car and your impressions? Could help potential bidders a lot. Also understandable if you want to stay out of it.

I didn't experience the pop out and true to the sellers word that it hadn't done so in about 40k miles, neither of us could replicate it over a 30 minute drive both warm and cold.

A PPI should be in order for all purchases and I would hope any serious flaws are caught during that inspection. I don't think BaT will also let me post over there negative stuff without getting banned or warned.

It sold for $39,750.00. Seems like a good deal for both parties.

BaT has sales histories available. Here is link to the prices paid for 996TT since 2016.

BaT is pretty much user-regulated. I've posted plenty of negative stuff about cars listed there (as well as positive) and mostly it leads to dialog with the bidders and peanut gallery. One of the things I like about BaT is that its not ruled with a heavy hand...

I love it when they say "never raced". Yeah, no ****, a non-racecar was never raced, thanks for letting me know.

the ebay posting looks like sport seat. seems sport seats with painted backs are the most desired.

Supple leather was a very popular option when these cars were bought new. I do not understand what the negativity is about them. I have spend quite a bit of driving time in both supple and standard seats and they feel pretty much the same to me. The supple leather is just a bit softer but the seat padding is the same.

love the sofas great for lounging! your stoaked! I switched my painted sport seats for recaro GT3 club sports, the stock were too loungy for me. needed more side bolstering.

So few TTS coupes, and this one had to be modded, but seller notes it's close to stock:

Absolutely agree....high 40s buys a really nice 'moderate' mileage car.

In my uneducated opinion, this is the sweet spot for many of us who were looking for a really nice/needs very little driver quality car.

It's pretty apparently that high 40s buys A LOT more car than low 40s.
