Helped a friend with his 996 turbo. He was complaining of a noise from what he thought was the front right when going over bumps. Put it on my lift and found a few things, the litronic bracket on the left side wasn't attached to the lower control arm at all, the 10mm bolt holding the abs sensor in place on the right knuckle was loose but the smoking gun was his front belly pan was missing every single one of the metal clips that hold it in place. Only the 4 10mm plastic nuts were holding it on. So we removed the belly pan, mounted the litronic bracket, tightened up the bolt and sent him on his way to see if that did it.
It solved his noise, so he's ordering the metal clips and we'll install them with the belly pan once he gets them.
Also took him for a ride in my freshly tuned k24 car, he was impressed....

Spent some time this weekend on front aero improvements. Center radiator flip (still need to figure out the correct hoses to complete this), cut the front bumper to vent over the hood like 996 GT3RS, and completed modifying the Toth splitter to be functional... Car now has flat floor back to the front wheel wells and small splitter extension from using a big piece of carbon I had in my storage- the carbon was already cut in the shape of OEM bumper so it doesn't line up with the Toth splitter perfectly, but it is off an equal amount on both sides and was the right length to reach the wheel wells.. I haven't decided if I care about it not matching the Toth lip's curve or not so I'll deal with that later, either get another fresh carbon piece or trim this back to tuck under the edge on the Toth lip. The splitter extension held 2 guys standing on it, so hopefully that'll be strong enough.

Also not pictured but added the turning vanes from the GT4RS (same pieces as on the 991 GT2 Clubsport, but plastic instead of carbon). These direct turbulent tire wake from behind the front wheel outboard to keep air flow under the car clean and hopefully reduce some lift. Theoretically it also creates an air skirt that prevents airflow from the side of the car from washing down and going under the car, but we don't have a way to model that to confirm. Former F1 guy helped me on the analysis for these changes, but we dont have the computing power or wind tunnel access to get real numbers, just very basic stuff. We will flo-viz everything and hook up some sensors on track this year to confirm it is working as expected, and if not, back to the drawing board.

It's not the Ruf bumper and Zebulon splitter I wanted, but it'll hopefully do for this season.

That looks really slick Chris! That’s the true test, get a few guys standing on the splitter! That’s the only way you know it can support some meaningful down force. Did you bolt it to the front subframe?

997 turbo. Cheaper than the GT2, just cut them off.

Yogi-Mama going for her first ride in CK.

This car came from Arizona with lens overs to mask their beauty. Not any more! Riiiiiip!
you got another convertible. Big difference between the turbos and the natural aspirated cars. I’m finalizing the performance process on mine, k24/18s. As soon as he feels better Bruce is going to help me put the final tune in it. More content for your channel you should do a video on Alara garage we went there yesterday pretty cool concept, they sell art, wine, detail cars, ppf, window tints, they sell rare collectibles and have more than 500 cars in storage. The first Saturday of the month will be there starting April 1st. They do a tour, you maybe able to record and they are the bat partner in Houston. I got a nail in my tire Saturday and was bad, just replaced that rear at discount tire today. Trying the Sumitomos HtrZ that I bough during the Black Friday sale, remaining thread was 3/4 so needed to change the tire anyway. A few pics for you guys.

Bad for the tire.

The behind of the turbos is sexy.

That is a gorgeous blue.

Lincoln with suicide doors pretty cool.

That Mexico blue 718 is on auction at bat right now.

A group of us got together early and drive to the garage.

That white g wagon bullet proof maybe it belongs to a drug dealer or Obama.

Breakfast was pretty good, pastries.

Had to go to total wine while ina different area of town to stock up with my bourbons.

I like the V8 Vantage in front better.

Decided to upgrade the intercoolers, and dress up the hoses. Replaced the engine mounts and converted to wheel studs. Intercoolers are an underrated mod for this car.

Thanks dude!

Yes, I've got 4 connections to the subframe. I also replaced the threaded clips on the bottom of all 3 steel radiator brackets that the front bumper connects to with short turnbuckles and hurricane bolts- so the splitter hardware connects the bumper, splitter, and radiator brackets that mount to the chassis. I think that was a total of 9 heavy duty bolts added that. 2 more long turnbuckles with bolts and threaded rod going up to the crash bar, and then finished it off with some superficial ones that pull the carbon splitter flush with the Toth lip since there was a couple mm gap. The extension bends/flexes with the Toth lip slightly, but if you put real weight on it, the whole front of the car will move and it doesn't deform or rip off.

Very nice. Thanks for the heads up. Do you have a part number by chance? If not I'm sure I can find it. Hadn't really started searching for the solution yet but this seems like it may be the easiest

edit: for future reference, found the part number as 997-106-632-01

I finally got my curb ramps to help get my TT up and onto my driveway. I can get it up w/o it but I cannot back into the driveway w/o scraping the engine and mufflers. This test worked. However, those ramps are wicked heavy.

Still kinda scrapes on the lip but much better.

Backing in will be a challenge but can be done.

Finally finished my transmission rebuild. Wrapped up the LSD install as I finally got the shim thicknesses right.

Pulling bearings to install new shims.

Lash measurement.

Closed up and sealed for eternity.

Ready for final check on all the bolt torques, and putting the brackets back on.
