Installed the Rennline grill kit and got the bumper back onto the car. The Rennline kit comes with zero instructions. The grill kit does keep the radiator ducts from seating all the way, which makes lining the bumper back up a bit of a pita.
Also these eBay aero lips aren't quite long enough. They're maybe 3/8" too short. I used a heat gun to stretch it some but it's still not awesome.

How bad is the seating of the ducts with the Rennline kit? Is it bad enough to avoid ordering a set?

I don't know if it's that bad. But the bumper doesn't just slot right back into place. You need to finesse it here and there and shove it around here and there.

glad you were able to get them on... it does take a bit of persuading...

I gave up trying to install on my car. I tried many attempts to get the bumper to fit correctly. On my other 996 non-turbo, the bumper installed without any problems.
you need to keep the channel around the grill as open and clear as possible. I wound up bending the clips to get them in as deep into the channel as possible, and then expanded them as wide as I could in the channel. This helped fitment a ton, but still not as smooth and easy as stock. The harder part was getting the sensor plugged in now that the grill is blocked. Can't just reach through and pull it into place.
Final little work done to get the drivers fender liner into place, replaced a push pin and a few of the 10mm plastic nuts that hold the middle belly pan into place, then took it off the lift and put it on the garage deck. Off season prep completed, ready to go!
