lol was waiting for someone to notice that. my best friends parents are moving into a retirement community and was cleaning out their old house. they had just dropped it off in my garage along with a Bose unit and old PC for me to take to the recycling center... i ended up keeping the monitor and trying to find a mini PC to strap on the back of it to build a workstation in the garage to look up diagrams and play music while i work on cars... i'll get to this after i finish the car... more projects to add to the list!!!

Having some interesting success with Armor All ceramic car was - after a couple of washes, I feel the Ceramic Pro coating is actually repelling crud and water better than using Palmolive to simply was it.
My theory is that the AA residue beefs up the coating, either way, pretty happy with the results.
Cheers,

Wait. You weren't using Palmolive to wash your car were you? Dish soap strips wax and ceramic coatings.

I second that....
The guy who did the coating actually confirmed Palmolive was OK to was... this, of course, was before I discovered the Armor All product....

i usually use dawn to strip coatings off cars... dish soap has high detergents that break down the polymers in the sealants and waxes... think about how when you wash the dishes the soap cuts through grease, waxes and sealants are essentially fat based oils... that's why usually water usually doesn't stick on a coated car... if your car is coated, use a proper car wash soap that is meant to not strip the sealant or wax layer...

I have been using Palmolive since the dawn of my car life....
Dawn, we use to strip grease off components as Palmolive does not have the same effect on grease, or at least, not the immediate effect that dawn does.
I have never heard that, the mire you know I suppose....

Never, ever use dish soap for washing a car, unless you are prepping it for a detail and want to remove/strip old waxes. Car was soap is much more gentle.
