Ha ha no, my lady friend drives an Audi Q3.
'Bout the two 6TT's, since I line in Massachusetts and we get 9 months of winter each year, and I can't stand the thought of driving that blue 6TT in the snow - it's a Cali car and there isn't a speck of rust even on the suspension bolts - I thought that getting another 6TT with high miles and low value would give me a really fun winter car.
There is no telling if my plan will work out. It assumes I can find winter or minimally all season tires...

Question:

Does anyone on here have a 944, or has had one in the past? I'm just wondering if it's worth getting a 951 or just a 944 S2. I have really been liking having my 996 C2 back in the garage - the NA is nice to have. Problem is, I haven't driven any 944's at all. I'm just thinking that the simplicity of the S2 might make my ownership more kinda, and I can do more things myself.

Maybe I'm delusional; input appreciated. Didn't feel brave enough to go into the 944 Threads :P

I can’t offer any advice but I’ve been looking at 944 turbos myself for the past year! I absolutely love the look of them!

I've had two 944 turbo's. At this point I'd pass on them. They have old school, intergalactic turbo lag, are very maintenance intensive to run and aren't the greatest street car. For a street car the 944 S2 or 968 are better choices, still are very intensive maintenance cars to own but are easier to work on.

I looked at the smoke and fire maps for Kali and appreciated that my car is sitting in the garage 1,500 mile from me is not a smoldering heap, yet.

Washed, clay barred, and compounded the car. Still need to polish and install the ceramic coating.

I had never compounded a car before and have been pleasantly surprised at how well it has gone so far. I was able to get all the tire ball scuffs out of the hood, fenders, and front bumper. Pretty amazing!

Put my front plate holder on, after a paint correction and ceramic refinish.

Front plate holder are a conspiracy to control the bumpers of our cars. My car can't breath with a front plate holder and i think it is bad for its health and facebook agrees. Bernie is trying to take away my right to go bare bumper.

Yes, it was restful... The surgeon says I have to exercise a little bit, so adding on a couple of machine screws was it!!!

I had a 1989 944 S2 - even tracked it for awhile. Lots of fun - but some maintenance issues can get downright scary. The water cross over pipe - on the 944 is a $94 part - on the S2 - it's $800 if you can find one. Stuff like that. They can be a blast to drive though - very balanced - I think my daughter's Scion FRS is a better in every respect - for much less money
