To my surprise the filter was sitting in the oil pan. Not attached to the valve body. I hope I knocked it off when removing the pan but I don't think so.
Nice! It’s so satisfying knowing these things are done! I wouldn’t worry too much about the filter, when I did mine I noticed the filter was just touching the pan when I reinstalled it, meaning while your pan is on it should be where it’s meant to be if that makes sense

I went to go and plug in the charger as the battery was flat and I noticed the drunk light would not turn off with the hood open - I am pretty sure the last time I charged it directly to the battery with the hood open, the light went off after a few minutes. Or am I recalls ng this wrong?

Either way pulled the charger and will use the Porsche one through the lighter

That’s exactly what happened to me, the trunk and engine lid light would stay on, I had to re route my charger plug through the bonnet gap near the windscreen so I could plug in without opening anything!

I would have sworn that it has turned off in the past, but maybe I am wrong.

That is somewhat irritating.

ilIt is! I asked about it at post #444 on my thread, seems everyone has had to re route their charger adaptors!

With the key out of the ignition the light is powered off after approximately 2 hours.

I am failing to understand why it was engineered to stay on for two hours if key is out of the ignition - anything stuck in the frunk would have likely run out of oxygen before then...

The luggage compartment light is switched on when its hood is initially unlocked (via the switch on the driver's side panel or via the key fob.) The light remains illuminated for approximately 2 hours or until the hood is latched fully down again, whichever occurs first (given everything is in normal operating condition.)

It turns off, but far longer than a few minutes. Unless you have a 2001, in which case I believe it never turns off when open.

That would explain mine!
