To clean to be oil has a slight brownish hue to it but I'm thinking because the part I wiped it off of isn't the cleanest going to check fo a coolant leak and see what I find it'll be going off to the shop soon enough and I'll get the real scoop.

i thought it was residue or residual on the ground? no matter, but now curious what part you wiped it off of? oil would be the only fluid of the three to be remotely "brown". but you're going to shop. they'll tell you. gl with it.

I don't remember the 911 SC having this smell or the 928GT. Of course that was over twentyfive years ago for the SC and twenty for the GT.

all that just to get to the last nut... at least i got intimate with the car... it's a slippery slope though, since i have everything off, maybe i should upgrade the turbos, intercoolers, piping, etc... thank god my wallet can't support it...

tricky little bugger this one...

Mrs K wasn't putting out so i had to find a different way to bust a nut...

Kam 1 , Fahrt 0... now time to see if i can get the tips off... the bolts for the clamps were so bad i had to just cut them out... the bolts for the tips aren't any easier... ugh...

Currently going through the same thing. Luckily, my turbo nuts came off mostly OK. Exhaust tips, not so much.

Y'all need a 50/50 mix of ATF and acetone in your life. If that doesn't break a stuck bolt loose after soaking overnight, nothing will.

I hope my bolts will survive the exhaust swap and make it until the new turbos arrive.

i've never heard of this one... so mix the two together then just coat it on the bolt?

There's another trick too - gently heat the bolt up then hit it with penetrating oil, works like a charm as long as you don't set fire to things.

Yup, just mix them together and use it as a penetrating oil. You can store it too.

02 sensors usually come out without much fuss, especially if you lower the exhaust first for easier access.

I usually just go with heat. A quick blast with a plumbers torch directly on the nut and then quickly wrench the bolt out.

The 50/50 of trans fluid and acetone is amazingly effective, unfortunately not as fun as fire.
