Wouldn't you get the same effect by tilting the seat forward more?

Yeah, tall, thin and long legged. Steering wheel is always a slightly uncomfortable reach.

Perhaps you meant short?
How tall is really tall? Long legged or long bodied? That is what makes the difference.

One would think that being really tall generally means that arm length is also long.

I drive with the seat full back and full down and have no problem adjusting the steering wheel to fit my reach.

Individual results on seat/steering wheel adjustment obviously varies.

Interesting problem. What are your specs? Lol.
It's probably expensive because it has a very limited market. Aftermarket wheel may be your way to go. For the same money, you could get a nice wheel and space it exactly how you like, and if you want could add a quick disconnect.

Same here. I, in fact, would like it more if the drivers seat was physically mounted further back so that I could have a more vertical seat back; front lower down too would be nice.

I have very long legs, 36+" inseam and my arms are also long but even with the seat fully back and fully down my legs are still not in a comfortable extended position. My knees are bent awkwardly and my lower thighs are off the seat the bottom. Have to raise and tilt the seat bottom up and back slightly to get the back of my thighs on the seat but I can't go too high because my head hits the roof and I just can't get my arms in a comfortable position with my elbows in a relaxed bend. I am always reaching a bit. I have had this issue with all the 911s I have owned.

IMO the 911 is not a great "tall person" sports car. Far better than the Vette though (through C7). I haven't been in a C8.

I ordered my 996 Turbo with factory sunroof delete because of the "tall person" driving position issue(s). Even with sunroof delete and the seat full back and full down the top of my head still brushes the headliner if I sit up straight. So I just scoot my butt slightly forward and rely on the adjustable lumbar support for preventing some low back ache on drives over about an hour. The lumbar adjustment does not eliminate the ache completely, it just helps reduce it. But steering wheel reach isn't an issue. I'm not sure where I have the steering wheel positioned relative to it's total adjustment range. I just know it is in a great position for me personally.

Specs: 6", 36" inseam. Would love to be able to extend my legs more without compromising my arm length! So... where are the extenders that aren't $600?

Indeed. Despite not being a giant, I think a couple inches on the wheel would make the driving position perfect.

Have you checked with FVD?

No affiliation, but saw this the other day while looking at Black Friday deals on Design 911

I suppose the other option would be to go with an aftermarket seat with an adjustable base - I think it would somewhat suck to have to remove your hands from the wheel to operate the signals etc.
