Definitely solid data with a very statistically relevant sample size of 58.

And it illustrates that the discussion is not "only on Rennlist" (which is why I posted the link.)

I have the steering wheel extender from Giacomo and the fit and finish is very nice. I needed an extender after I installed my 6-point harness and racing seat in my car so that I could get the wheel about an inch closer to me than the factory wheel adjuster would allow. That allowed me to put my seat in a position where my feet could be in the best spot for heel/toe downshifting and my hands could still fully grip the steering wheel when turning. Since the top of the wheel is slightly more forward than the bottom of the wheel I was finding that when turning it 90 degrees to the right or left meant that my hand had to move forward a bit more than when it was at 9 and 3. I'll post a picture when I get a moment.

Regarding the comment about the stalks being farther away from the wheel, it is a noticeable difference but it doesn't bother me and considering the benefit I get as mentioned above it is a worthwhile tradeoff for me.

At the time that I bought it the only color option was black, but it is just a piece of aluminum so I’m sure you could have it painted any color you wanted.

Also, I forgot to mention that the other reason for installing the extender was to get the bottom of the steering wheel away from my right thigh when I would heel toe. With the wheel in the stock position the top of my thigh would sometimes brush up against the wheel and make my heel toe downshift a bit less than perfect. With the extension I no longer have that problem.

Let’s just say I was pleasantly surprised by how nicely it looks. Very similar looking to how the factory hub extender (albeit a little longer) is on my sister's 944S.

My answer to the steering wheel/thigh issue was to go with a 340mm steering wheel.

I went with a flat bottomed wheel myself; dealt with that issue nicely.
