Regarding the comment about the stalks being farther away from the wheel, it is a noticeable difference but it doesn't bother me and considering the benefit I get as mentioned above it is a worthwhile tradeoff for me.

At the time that I bought it the only color option was black, but it is just a piece of aluminum so I’m sure you could have it painted any color you wanted.
Also, I forgot to mention that the other reason for installing the extender was to get the bottom of the steering wheel away from my right thigh when I would heel toe. With the wheel in the stock position the top of my thigh would sometimes brush up against the wheel and make my heel toe downshift a bit less than perfect. With the extension I no longer have that problem.

I went with a flat bottomed wheel myself; dealt with that issue nicely.
