Best timed run, and last of the good roads; I was a little north of Calgary, so it wasn't 300kms, it was 276kms @2hr4m.
The moment you're into Edmonton, and west, the road surface is horrid, and you can run at about 85mph (140kmh), but it gets really annoying after awhile.
Yes, I only wish he went for longer because the moment he pulled off, I scrubbed about 30mph.
Fun fact, two times ago when I did this run, I was fueling up at Conoco and this trooper pulled in with a charger, sounded lumpy. Turned out it was, 500+ HP, armed to the teeth, really nice guy. We got to talking and he said in Montana, they won't even look at you doing 10 over, and as long as you aren't driving like a 'yobbo' (his words), they'll leave you alone, primarily because they are under staffed on highway patrol units.
I think this to be relatively true, only saw a couple of troopers the whole way through the state.
I would definitely not be willing to risk going that fast without an escort, hah. When I take the Turbo out I make sure to slow down before I get to the top of an overpass.
Isn't over 100mph in the states a trip to a local jail?
Depends how cool the cop is. I got a slap on the wrist for this. Cop was far behind me, I didn’t know he was there, did a pull and got out of range of his radar while he was trying to keep up lol. He caught up when I slowed back down. I was going well over 100 when I got out of range of his radar.
Definitely depends on the cop. In my 20s I got snagged doing close to 130mph on a lonely stretch of freeway. My ticket was for 89mph, one mile an hour below 25 over which is automatic reckless driving.
Wow, lucky on both accounts. This is the fastest car I've ever owned and it's in the garage more than on the road. Been lucky so far, knock on wood. I have gotten a 95 in a 45 before and I was suprised how calm the cops were. It was a parked motorcycle cop who waved me over to stop so maybe no adrenaline going on his part. It was a $500 ticket but no jail time, hah.

Is that the go to jail, do not pass go and collect $200, point?

The worst I ever got was coming out of manning park into hope.
There were three lanes, east/west. As I came around the corner, I saw him, and got heavy on the brakes, he nailed me at 159kmh, and had absolute conniptions when he pulled me over - wanted me to admit how fast I was going, etc
, etc.
It was a $1400 ticket, but just shy of driving without due care and attention - the Canadian version of really bad.
Decided to fight it. First court appearance, the judge put it over because the officer wasn't available. Same as the second.
On the third visit to hope, the horseman pulled the complaint, and I was free to go - apparently no longer had the speed data....
what color are your wheels on your artic? Its a much better contrast imho than the black wheels that I have and makes me want to powdercoat mine to something similar.
The picture in that post is my Polar, but both the Polar and the Turbo are now running Apex wheels in the same color.
Arctic: Apex SM-10 in Anthracite
(note that the above is an older picture... The arctic now has stripes, but this picture doesn't show the wheels as well)

Moral of the story?
Never stop, never stopping....
Ouch. That is a lot of coin for a ticket. Lucky to get out of it. I usually coast when I see a cop vs slamming on the brakes. In front of you they can see your nose dive and in rear they see the brake lights. Some states that looks like an admission of guilt to a cop, hah.
We did not make it out of the city when we visited. Next time I will try to ferry over to Victoria or drive to Whistler.
