Yes of course I'm the one who's ignorant. Obviously, you know nothing about crush tubes, crumple zones, chassis design for off-center collisions, multiple airbag design, etc. You are foolish to think that a '58 Caddy is even remotely safe. Have you ever studied one iota of engineering or any kind of science for that matter? Obviously you have not.
The concept of equating big hunk of metal to passenger safety without considering other variables is foolish.
All I have to say to you is... WHATEVER. <img src="graemlins/sleep.gif" border="0" alt="[sleep]" /> </strong><hr></blockquote>
i never said i'd be safer in the caddy, no way in hell, i'd fly right through the windshield. But the hunk of steal will do quite a bit of damage to your hunk of steal.

Who said the Supra doesn't have the brakes and suspension to match? Most modified supras above 700HP also get coilovers and 6piston brakes, though Supra stock brakes are of superb quality.
Modification of valve springs, and cam work alone will rev much higher than the 996Turbo. I believe the car is capable of smoking a modified 911 turbo in a straight away, 1/4 mile, top speed, long duration as well. I don't think the car is capable of keeping up with the Porsche in a road course due to its lack of low end torque - especially with a larger turbo enducing more lag.

Just admit it Shank, the Supra is a POS. We need to take you to Supra-anonymous. Just say
p-o-r-s-c-h-e!!!
Didn't you get rid of your Supra yet?

Single turbo supras have lag and the porsche pulls like its naturally aspirated, with minimal or non existant lag. This in concert with gearing, the porsche would be stronger in every gear. As far as dragging, the supra would win with with slicks. On a road course, forget it...the supra is no match for the porsche...even if its tuned for road racing. Single turbo with major lag would fall behind in the track.
I've seen supras upto and over 1000HP on built motors, but even at 800plus...What good is all that horsepower if you can't lay it down. Its good for the 1/4 mile with slicks, useless HP on the street. And for those supra radicals out there who feel for 50k you can beat a stock 996turbo.....well you can say the same thing about a 800HP dodge colt!
I, however do love supras because you can get major power, with stock heads/block/tranny/rear, etc.., but it is no competition overall to the Porsche turbo.</strong><hr></blockquote>
This was your first post in this topic, Shank. Where did this go wrong ? It started very nice !
I DID find it a very amusing thread btw

I love the 996TT, but the only race I ever lost was to a modded supraTT. Never went aganst a modded 996TT though. Yes I did beat a stock one, although I hate to admit it.......anyone got a GT2 in Boston who wants to race?
