Great job GFR! About time their incompetence was noted...

For those guys whom have done the repair, even before total failure, the fittings were due to fail so just report as if you suffered a failure... They can't prove you didn't have a failure if you've spent thousands on a repair

I think that the situation with our coolant hose press fittings is bad enough on its own without having to bend the truth to inflate the number of reports made. If you had a failure, please fill out an incident report. If not, please don't.

For those who preemptively made the repairs certainly do not misrepresent that if you choose to fill out a report. It's not the same as a failure.

Are there any warning signs? That proactively could be checked?

Just received an email from the NHTSA requesting more information and they acknowledged the problem and indicated they were aware of some of the online forum posts.

Usually not. The pipe just pops out.

I was contacted as well. I told them I was forced to replaced my pipes because of fear of a catastrophic failure on the race track.

Default Coolant Pipe/Fitting Failure

This was mine in March of 2011. No warning. It just let go.

Porsche have had no issue misrepresenting nor understating the seriousness of this issue over the past 12 years and countless customers have wrecked their cars or caused others harm... Just saying...

if its a recall wouldnt that mean they would have to repare or replace all the fittings that fail or not within the years recalled for free.

I filed my complaint. Will keep everyone posted. My pipes haven't failed but I plan on correcting the situation. The on-line form forces you to put a date for an incident so I used today's date but I noted no crash. In the text box, I reported I have seem them fail and concerned for my safety as well as the safety of others behind me. I will report back if I receive a call.
