Coolant Line Failures- NHTSA
File a report with the NHTSA if you had your coolant lines / fittings welded/ pinned. I got a response form their investigator and everyone should be filing a report. Strength in numbers.

I assume cars that are in Canada wont qualify for the NHTSA filing.
My 6GT3 had a failure of one of the fittings last summer while it was owned by the previous owner. They had it towed to a Porsche Dealer and the Dealer replaced all the hoses and re-epoxied all the fittings. They would not pin them stating it would void the CPO warranty.

To epoxy all the fittings the engine would need to be dropped as well. Porsche did that for you? Their new "epoxy" is probably different adhesive than original and probably fine but they really did all the fittings? For free? Doubt that.

It was covered under the CPO warranty, I have the invoice from the dealer. The car is still covered under CPO until June 1, 2013.

I'll do one tomorrow to help the cause : ). We should do a new registry on coolant line failures so if nhtsa actually calls refer to coolant pipe registry on RL. Mike

Official Investigation will be announced in 72 hours. Thank you Rennlist. File those reports if you have had your coolant lines fixed.
