I submitted a complaint today and explained that while I had not yet had a failure, it is a known defect and should be remedied by recall/manufacturer repair.

That would be great if it became a recall. Mine has not been done yet. I have 26K on her and she is not tracked. I am planning on fixing these when the clutch needs replaced, but no signs of needing a clutch anytime soon.

I registered my complaint the other day.
Mentioned I had taken pro active steps to prevent failure.
Also mentioned that while my 07 GT3 was at the dealer with the motor out to repair RMS, they stood there and watched me do the pinning myself, using my own tools, fastners etc. They wanted no part of it. Nice.
To add even further insult the head tech who had since moved on to corporate had the gall to tell me it is/was the car owners fault for not checking for coolant leaks before the "big one" occurs. Brain washing at its finest.
These guys need to be water boarded.

I registered a couple weeks ago and had a DOT investigator respond requesting more information. I had a leak on a track which made the rear tires break loose, I had the coolant pipes welded in during a rebuild.
Tom, interesting response from your dealer rep :-/

bad news: hopefully this gets rectified soon because it is a concern and weak link on the vehicle.
good news: i spent some time researching the full lineage of my mezger997TT and found out that a shop tig welded the coolant pipes 11k miles ago!.
