There are enough actual incidents to make our case without resorting to dishonesty.

The more the better. I'll be updating investigator. The truth of the matter unfortunately is all the adhesives that were used are failing from age, vibration and heat cycles. They were originally trying to save money and regluing one under warranty does not work. It is a design flaw originating from cheaping out. Now I want $3500 back in compensation. from PNA. We need to be safe to our co-drivers, That is my concern. Only Ohio PCA took a position from my search.

Typically they repair the defect for free, even if it has not actually failed, and they will reimburse for prior repairs.
Expect PCNA to fight this very hard. $$$

The only precaution is to go to water wetter, which I had done at the dealership.
Has any figured out any range of years of 997.2 RS are vulnerable?

Three Wheelin'
Come on people, 8-10 customer complaints on the nhtsa.gov site. Really! Please take the 5-10 mins to fill out a report online.
Thanks

The year range is just a sloppy summary. The actual probe covers the expected range:

Edit to add: I think this link will work without a session. http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/acms/cs...13009-4785.PDF

NHTSA announces probe into 911 coolant leaks
Announced earlier today. I don't know why the 2008+ models aren't included.

yes. File those reports. Investigation will be announced in 72 hours. How stupid glueing coolant lines. Seems like it is public now so:
from NHTSA investigator- :
Bob,
An investigation is officially open and now on our public website, wwwsafercar.gov, investigation number PE13009. The opening statement lists 10 reports to us which is a snapshot at the time the official paperwork started through the approval process and then there is a delay of 72 hours before it goes public to allow the manufacturer to get up to speed.

figures it would happen now after i did the welding in the winter
my guess is that someone who was in an accident on the track has pushed this and finally got it to happen

I think people should file the complaint, especially on the older cars. It's nerve racking to drive around wondering when you will hydroplane on your own coolant at any moment. If it happens at the wrong time, you won't be around to file the complaint. I have done spirited drives in the mountains and a failure there would put not only me but all of those I have driven with in danger of sliding........OFF A MOUNTAIN!
That being said, I have suffered a catastrophic loss of coolant, however on the front of the car, and at only 40 mph. Just freaking blew coolant from the radiator hose everywhere. Happened just after I got the car (in 07). Spun into grass and shut engine off in time for it not to melt the engine. Flat bedded to mechanic fortunate nothing else happened.
Certainly wasn't going to take that chance again. Welded fittings together for thousands of dollars out of pocket. Porsche needs to anti-up.
