Front Console, LN hardened oil pump hex drive, new water pump and low-temp thermostat
New front console (main oil pump)
You can see the main pump gear
Vaseline is what the doctor prescribed
LN hardened hex dirve
I marked it "LN" as it looks the same as the stock drive but it's heavier (denser)
LN low temp thermostat in stock thermostat housing
New front console, new water pump, and new low temp thermostat installed
The 4 studs for the engine brackets are also installed
Most of the holes are covered

Lifter Confit and Ferraro Rocher :)
New exhaust lifters and tensioners poached in hot fresh oil
Stock intake lifters were poached in oil + marvel mystery oil mixture. You can actually see the old dirty oil spit out as the oil heats up. I let it cool down and repeat for a few more cycles until no more old oil spits out
Ferraro rocher, anyone?

Another way of prepping the lifters and tensioners is using a strong storage container and taking a tire valve and install it on the cover, then I use the A/C vacuum pump along with A/C gauges and fill container with oil till above the parts and suck the air out of the container with parts in less than 10 mins or till you see no more bubbles coming out of the parts.

I only used it to hold the lifters temporarily. I had another plastic box with 24 partitions for the individual lifters.

Spin on filter adaptor (SPOFA)
If you remember, my engine case was clocked such that the SPOFA for the IMSS is about 230 degree out. Emailed LN and John took care of it by sending a new one with the proper orientation (no shims are needed). Also, I bought the BR30 break in oil from them a while ago and at the time they didn't have BR40 in stock. They have now and they just sent me a case (12 bottles) for free. Thanks Charles and John!

You guys are so lucky having an actual class to teach you, I had some great help in the uk from my local Indy garages which are really good but it took time collecting info, I even contemplated flying over!!
When is your book out jake it's on my list of must haves !!

Jan 2017 more realistically.
Guys, we should all stay positive! I think AWDGuy is just too tired of the engine/car after all the hard effort he has put into it.

IMSS center nut tool
7/16" 12-pt thin wall socket tool for the IMSS center nut
I ground down the sides of the socket to accept a 12mm crowfoot
Add a cabinet 1/4" screwdriver and you're good to go!

Drifting
Useful tool hack - thanks for sharing.
I always wondered why that IMS bolt head was not an internal hex/allen ,XZN or Torx.Slot head screws have been obsolete for most applications for 20+years.
