Thanks 808Bill and Cuda! I'm enjoying every minute of it too.
Schell, that 10min is interesting. It shows you the order that the parta go on. However, since the camera didn't move, you're missing like 70% of the action. A cool video none the less.
I only work on the engine a couple of hr a day only when I'm free so it's not gonna be fast. I also do a lot of checking so that slow things down a lot too. I'm in no hurry so it's ok.
There is a new product available to engine rebuilders that may solve a significant(?) problem.
It is offered by Vertex who claim (verbatum ) to "have created the bearing support that eliminates future RMS leaks and reinforces crankshaft support"

Maybe too late for Duncan's build but useful for the many others who follow and use this excellent thread as a guide?
JR subsequently commented that he did not consider the 'product' useful in the thread linked above. What a relief, we don't have to dismantle the newly rebuilt engine to fit it !

I'll probably need to adjust the angle of the blue elbow fitting a bit once I put the engine back in the car. I don't want the hose to dangle too low though.
Looks good, you are almost done. Now I need to get my butt in gear and start putting mine back together. Thanks for documenting yours, it will help others in the future.
