The biggest problems are super high miles with no mention of a IMS bearing swap, lackluster pictures, little or no proof of service, and the seller's lack of involvement in the auction. I don't see anywhere if the seller has commented more than just once?
This one won't end well.

I actually understand why the seller of the Millennium Edition car made a "sub par" ad. It's a high mileage 996 that's not original. I get the feeling that the owner knows, or accepts, that the car won't fetch too much. Often the amount of work to clean up the car and invest time selling it just isn't worth it to the seller.
That's one major reason why so many people trade in cars over selling them themselves.
Personally, I would prefer to buy a car like that because I would like to do most of the work myself. I would prefer that the IMSB hasn't been changed as well. I want the lowest price possible.

Three Wheelin'
I think that is true for a Honda being sold on Craigslist. Why bother putting a car on BaT (which costs the seller $99 no matter what), if you’re not willing to put in a little effort. It’s pretty clear that there is a correlation between presentation / interaction and final bid.

Now proper timing of selling a rare car matters too. If many of them are on the market, it's a buyer's market then, not a sellers.
A regular Honda should be posted on Craigslist. Beat to crap Type R belongs on BaT.

I even didnt know that some of those options were ever available (for instance, having the PCM painted in exterior color )
